Commercial Description:
2008. Created by homebrewer Alex Drobshoff. Alex’s Brew is a bright copper German inspired bock with a complex, full bodied mouthfeel. Hints of rich plum and cherry aromas paired with its toasty, malt flavor make this the perfect beer to linger over on a cool evening.

Bottle. Dark amber brown pour, medium carbonation with caramel malt and sour cherry aroma. Flavor is also rich decadent caramel, silky mouthfeel and finished with brown sugar and berry on the finish. Solid beer, good recipe Alex!

Poured from bottle. roasted malt aroma. Mahogany, tan head. Along with the malt there’s cherry, vanilla, caramel, hint of cocoa, some spice in the flavor. Good, clean finish. Nicely done.

Pours deep clear amber with minute long tan head. The aroma emits cherries, plums, some roastiness, earthiness and faint oxidation. The taste starts with a modest note of smooth sweetness from cherry notes, plums and malts and being punctuated briefly by a carbonation burst. By midway mild notes of caramel and slowly building malt roastiness take this into the finish. It ends with a renewed ripe plum and cherry sweet fruitiness.

Bottle. Pour was deep copper/brown with a thick and creamy tan head. Aroma was of sweet malt, caramel, molasses, and light chocolate. Body is very full with sweet malt prevailing int eh flavor accompanied by light fruity yeast characters, toast, a bit more caramel, and brown sugar. I liked the overall balance of the beer quite well. Nice job Alex.

Spot on, IMO. The description is pretty true to this beer, and a very nice bock, which is a style that I really dig when done right. Lit my fire.
