Aroma that smells much like many lagers but sweeter. I can’t say this tastes bad but it’s really not my style. It is indeed malty and therefore very sweet. Not really my thing and I have had better beers of this style. Again, not a bad beer but too malty for my tastes. RSRIZZO (1369), Colorado Springs, Colorado, USA
| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 4/5 | 4/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | May 19, 2009 Color is a deep clear amber with good carbonation and a thin tight tan head. Aroma of alcohol and caramel. Taste is light and malty. Starting with a lighter medium body it goes down easy with a smooth feel. Finish comes on with a mild malt flavor that is has touch sweetness with a faint fruity taste then a mild bitterness. After taste is clean with just a faint lingering of the bitterness then after a while there is a warm alcohol feel. Overall its a nice brew, I think its a little light for a Bock but I do like it. gotohelunc (476), Chapel Hill, North Carolina, USA

Some nuts and whole grain come through. Nice solid, if not memorable, beer. argo0 (6982), Washington DC, USA

| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | May 19, 2009 12 oz. bottle. Poured into a Sam Adams glass. Appealing dark lager pour, big head collects in the narrow top of the glass. Sweet, maybe sugary malt smell says this just may be a real trad style bock. Taste is very likable. Malty molasses cookie sweetness; I get a hint of ginger snap. A bit of dried fruit, but this is a well-finished lager. Not a beer to slam down, but to enjoy. I wouldn’t worry if they made this their regular bock recipe. Nephilium (557), Ohio, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | May 18, 2009 Very sweet aroma, with a touch of astringency lurking in the background. Hints of spicy yeast, and dark fruits. Pours a clear reddish amber, with a thin tan head. Flavor has hints of caramel, a touch of sweetness, and a bit of nuttiness. Decent mouthfeel. Not a bad beer, but a bit too sweet for my tastes. Bockyhorsey (2552), Mesa, Arizona, USA
| 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | May 17, 2009 Bottle. Dark body with red tynt to it. Aroma in traditional fashion is sweet malts and some ginger spice. Flavor was a bit watered down with a thick sticky malt and fruit presence. Not the best on palate leave a spicey sticky film lingering. IrishBoy (2719), Bakersfield, California, USA
