Pours a clear reddish brown with fair light tan ring of head. Nose of molassis and sweet alcohol fumes. Flavor is plum, rum, and biscuit. Has a good bit of warming for only 7%. Not my favorite of the series. DarkSong (115), Dacula, Georgia, USA

It has a malty molasses aroma. It has a wonderful roasted, molasses and toffee taste with hints of espresso and chocolate. This is an outstanding beer. CaptainCougar (5532), Rockville, Maryland, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Sep 8, 2009 Pours a transparent dark copper brown with a thin froth of off-white head. Aroma of sweet doughy dark caramel German malts with a hint of brown sugar and noble hops. Starts with good fullness and a rich, doughy dark caramel husky sweetness with some light fruity tones and a full bodied, yet very drinkable sweet malty finish. Has just the right amount of noble hoppy bitterness throughout. A very well made and true to style Dunkler Bock that is amazingly drinkable. MadIndian (997), Levittown, Pennsylvania, USA

| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Sep 5, 2009 Stunningly attractive clear dark chestnut brown body. Nose: dusty munich malt, salty crackers, toasted barley, bread crumbs and molasses - very malt forward with very little aromatic hop presence. Rich toffee and bready malts, solid malt structure, medium sweetness, vanilla and molasses noted. Better than expected, and probably one of the better of all the Longshot releases. zach8270 (2136), Henrietta, New York, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Sep 4, 2009 (bottle - 12 oz) Dark copper pour with a thick off-white head. Aroma is sweet and malty with hints of honey and cherries. Flavor is sweet and malty at the beginning with a good honey and caramel note. Some light bread malts come through in the middle and blend well with the sweetness. I was shocked at how the sweetness actually wasn’t overpowering. Very well balanced.
