Commercial Description:
2008. Created by homebrewer Alex Drobshoff. Alex’s Brew is a bright copper German inspired bock with a complex, full bodied mouthfeel. Hints of rich plum and cherry aromas paired with its toasty, malt flavor make this the perfect beer to linger over on a cool evening.

Pours dark brown with ruby highlights. Flavor is roasted malt with some dark fruit. Tasty and easy to drink. Very nice.

Pours a reddish brown. Very nice aromas of cherry and malt. For me, the flavor first hits with the plum (almost more prune) and finishes with a hard candy.

Dark brown body with a creamy, thin head. Nose is very malty sweet with some chocolate and molasses as well. Flavor is sweet with some roastyness as well. Medium bodied.

Very fruity tasting bock with a dry finish. the cherries come through much stronger than the plum but they are both there if you let it warm.

bottle 355 ml
Appearance: dark amber-ruby bock, good clarity with mid contrasting laced top.
Nose: rich malts with neat slight aromatic hop stroke with bit of dry alcohol. Late nutty with toasted malts.8-
Flavor/Palate : Mid full bodied. Malty base , quiet soft , chewy in texture with balancing alcohol dryness. Perhaps bit thin on malt body for bock but as ESL this would be great example.

Pours a somewhat clear walnut with a tightly-bubbled, glossy layer of white head that leave amazing lace on sides of my glass. Moderate carbonation refuels the head constantly. The aroma has a lot of toasty malt, some biscuit, brown sugar and also has a slight hint of dark fruit and Michigan cherries. The flavor is bold and sweet at first, loads of sweet toasty malt, and a little bit nutty. Finish is still sweet, but mostly plum and a very pleasant cherry finish. The mouthfeel is great, smooth and silky, and finishes with lingering sweetness. This little malt bomb is really drinkable and enjoyable. Great beer!

Presentation: It was poured from a brown 12oz bottle into a big mug. Appearance: The body had a deep dark brownish amber color with a big light tan head on top. The head hangs on well and slowly fades down to a thin covering. Lacing on the glass is slick and sides down as I drink. Smell: Its aroma is full of deep rich bready malt character. Taste/Mouth: The flavor has a big malty sweet character and solid full body. There are some light toasted notes, pretzel notes, caramel and thick bready maltiness throughout with just enough hops to let you know they are there too. The finish has some mild bitterness and herbal hop flavor quickly fading off the tongue. Its texture is smooth and slick on the palate with light carbonation. Notes: This is a great example of Bock beer! Very Well Done!!!

(12oz bottle) Pours a clear dark chocolate brown, with tan head that stays and great lacing. Nose is spicy yeast, sweet biscuit, brown sugar, and alcohol alongside some chocolate. Taste is sweet light toasted malts, creamy body, perfect velvety carbonation, and really nice and thick. This is easily the best of the 2009 Longshot series.
