Commercial Description:
Created by Rodney Kibzey, Illinois Rodney describes his wonderfully complex brew as "deep amber in color with a full creamy body and a dark fruit and clove aroma." This traditional Bavarian style brew took Rodney a few batches to perfect, but the taste is worth all of his hard work.

Bottle. Body-very dark hazy brown with a half inch foamy head and good lacing. Nose-Belgian, banana, cloves, prunes, dark fruit. Taste-dust, very slight metal, corn sugar, big dose of wheat, lingering bitter, lightly boozy, raisin, alcohol, slightly old tasting, alcohol and wheat really dominate, unsweet portion of apple juice, apple skin, treachle, lychee.

Muddy brown, vanilla coloured head. Delicious aromas and flavours of caramelized bananas, allspice, and wheat esters. Medium to full bodied. Very flavourful and delicious. Well done!

Balanced and drinkable-- definitely an ale and not a lager. A little fruity in taste for my liking. I prefer something like an Aventinus that slighlty emphasizes the bock vs. the wheat flavors. Very drinkable and I’m sure his original entry was better than this mass produces, pasteurized version.

This is what every homebrewer should shoot for when trying to create the perfect beer. Great color, lacing, aroma and wonderful fruit and clove flavor with a drying finish. The Bavarians would be very proud, Rodney! Nice job!

Sweet aroma of dark fruit, with a hint of roast underneath. Pours a nearly opaque dark brown, with a thin tan head. Sweet and spicy flavor, long finish of clove and banana. Touch of alcohol noticeable. Not bad for what is probably one of my least favorite styles.

12 oz bottle, best by July 2008. Murky brown with an of white head. Lots of clove and banana in the nose, wheaty with a bit of bubblegum. Medium bodied, good lace rings. Plenty of clove and banana in the flavor, too, with some caramel, toasty wheat and chocolate. Gets spicier as it warms. Really a nice job on this one. Peppery spice lingers in the finish. Good stuff!

Though it tastes like fruit and grass clippings, but it is very complex and tasty. It’s a great compatible mix of everything in it. It’s color and smell is very inviting. Very worthy of Sam Adam’s label.
