The aroma contains some sour grapes, chocolate, raisins, and nutmeg. The flavor is a little bit sour with some grapes, lemons, chocolate, caramel, and brown sugar. A bready presence in this one as well. Overall this was a good beer! Kevin (1920), Colorado, USA

Lots of clove and banana in the nose, wheaty with a bit of bubblegum. Medium bodied, good lace rings. Plenty of clove and banana in the flavor, too, with some caramel, toasty wheat and chocolate. Gets spicier as it warms. Really a nice job on this one. Peppery spice lingers in the finish. Good stuff! marcus (1902), Sacramento, California, USA

| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 17/20 | Apr 16, 2008 Pours an impressive cloudy reddish brown with a one finger frothy tan head. The aroma was very pungent and nice, banana nut bread, cloves, wheaty sourness, spicy. Similar flavor profile, spicy, banana, sour wheat, warm, clove and nutmeg. There was a slight offtaste that I can’t describe, a bit of a bite on the side of the tongue. Nothing major. Crisp and well carbonated. Very enjoyable brew, especially from SA. | 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jun 22, 2008 12 oz, bb July 2008. Nearly opaque copper-chestnut with a three finger head that lasts and laces well. Aroma is spicy wheat, clove, banana-raisin bread, slight bubblegum and alcohol. Thankfully, the flavor has all the same components, plus toasted nut and slight chocolate. Medium-heavy body is smooth with some tongue tingle, and nice dryness on the finish. Cheers and well done, Rodney!
