| 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Feb 19, 2008 Pours a dreary dingy pale brown color with an excellent head that lasts. Aromas are strong with cooked medicinals. Full nectar with a slightly creamy texture. Big medicine and banana gum spice dominate this brew with a very gentle bittering component on the finish. Good job man, I like it better than Schneider. drowland (1429), Tallahassee, Florida, USA

| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Mar 25, 2008 Bottle. Luscious aroma starting off very bubblegum, watermelon candy, other candi fruits, pepper (as a personal note, this is the first time I’ve managed to get the pepper scent I always read about here; woot!), also almost a woody sort of scent, all in all evolving more into the raisin/plum/prune realm (though the bubblegum and pepper remain). Flavor from the beginning in the dark fruit range, very nice, but not as diverse/original as the aroma. Pepper also remains, just couldn’t get it out of my mind once I captured it. Body is decent, I’m never overly impressed with the mouthfeel of any sort of bock, maybe it’s just me, but it always seems a little light for the flavors, but nothing truly negative about it. Very nice brew, and I’m sure I’m one of many who loves the LongShot concept. tytoanderso (1387), St. Louis Park, Minnesota, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 17/20 | Feb 8, 2008 Updated: Feb 12, 200812oz bottle. Decent example of the style, but I would like to see it a little thicker on the palate. Aroma is all banana and tropical fruit esters with a solid wheat and yeast presence as well. Pours Murky dark brown with a thin white head. Plenty of banana and wheat on the tongue. A good amount of spicy yeast as well. Medium bodied with a disappointingly short finish. If this were a little more full bodied and had a slightly longer finish it would be even better. nickd717 (1385), Palo Alto, California, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Feb 6, 2009 12oz bottle. Surprisingly righteous brew from some random guy in Illinois. Not bad, Rodney. Dark brown with a thin white head and medium-high carbonation. Aroma is phenolic with banana and some yeast. Tastes a little like a Belgian ale with dark fruit flavors, but also the banana/clove taste you expect from a weizenbock. Not too unlike Schneider Aventinus. Complex yet refreshing. Very drinkable. Can floor you before you know it. brewblackhole (1385), Muskego, Wisconsin, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Feb 9, 2008 Huge ,very well done, banana clove aroma, the yeast pretty much dominates as I’m not picking up to much Munich malts ,there are some dark fruit aromas also becoming evident, enough to let me know this is a dark bock as opposed to a pale weisse ale, appearance is defintely murky, taste becomes more interesting, now the malts are coming through,as well as sweet melanoidins, alli in a cloak of banana and clove yeast esters and phenols, thinner and a little more fruitier then Aventinus, but I could only hope to make a homebrew this good Magjayran (1379), Durham, North Carolina, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Feb 25, 2008 Cloudy reddish brown beer with a thin white head. Some perfumy banana and chocolate in the aroma. Thick and syrupy brew with a strong note of extra sweet banana, almond, black strap and chocolate. Very nice. | 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Mar 8, 2008 Aroma is a bold yeast and sweet malt scent. Color is a deep hazy orange brown with fair carbonation and a tight off white head. Taste is bold, creamy and sweet. Starting with a full/medium body it goes down with a creamy feel. Finish is yeasty with a good dry fruit and a little banana taste and a faint hoppiness. After taste has a very easy bitterness and nice spicy feel. This is a very good brew, its got a Belgian like taste to it and may be one of the best Bocks I can remember having. Its much better then the other winner this year (Longshot Grape Pale Ale). The more I drink it the more I like it.
