Commercial Description:
Created by Rodney Kibzey, Illinois Rodney describes his wonderfully complex brew as "deep amber in color with a full creamy body and a dark fruit and clove aroma." This traditional Bavarian style brew took Rodney a few batches to perfect, but the taste is worth all of his hard work.

Pours a dark cloudy brown color with a 2 to 3 finger head that is tope colored and creamy. Nose is sour, malty, some licorice, and cloves. Taste is of dark fruits, sugar, cloves, and the finish is medium and warming. I acutally expected something a bit different, don’t get me wrong this is a great beer but I prefer the wheat to be the star and not just a supporting cast memeber.

Brown, cloudy, frothy. smells pretty good, like caramel, some fruit. Taste is banana, malt, some clove. Very tasty, and pretty impressive. I can gush about how this beer is the best I’ve had from sam adam’s, and I’m a big sam adam’s fan, but the beer speaks for itself. Try it.

12 oz. bottle: This one pours a quite opaque darker brown color. There was a bit of a creamy tan head on it that dropped off some what quickly and left a little lacing. There is definitely some, but not overly so, clove to the nose. Malts and fruits in there also, but they have a hard time getting past the clove. The taste is good. There is a somewhat creamy texture to the beer. Just slightly sweet, with clove and other spices dominant. Slightly bitter finish. Nice.

Thick and hazy red/brown with a thin head. Big yeasty bubblegum/banana aroma with caramel, cocoa and a bit of acetone. Caramel banana flavor with some cocoa and clove. Very noticeable alcohol. Hot on the tongue. The bitterness is not high but is still a little rough. There’s an out of place acrid flavor. Upfront this beer tastes pretty good but then is falls apart. Though the mouthfeel is rather rich it still manages to finish on the watery side.

beautiful look! the deep amber color has a cloudy haze but what really stands out is the thick creamy dense dusty tan head that easily stands over the rim of the glass with pride and authority. great classic german clove aroma but not overly spiced. heavy in flavor, but not heavy in body. tasty beer, some holiday banana bread flavor, but none of the additional flavors are in excess. the roasted wheat stands out and shines with always the full bodied yeast throughout.

Very hazy, murky brown in color with a small light-brown head that falls to a thin ring. Aroma of caramelized banana, toffee, sweet wheat and walnuts. Moderately sweet, lightly bitter flavor with caramel and herbal hops and a nutty finish. Very light alcohol detected in the aftertaste. Still, a fantastic offering - Boston Beer Co. would be foolish to not produce this regularly, or at least seasonally.

Bottle. Pours a semi clear, red/brown, medium tan head. The aroma is a wheaty-spicy one with a lot of roastiness. Flavor is toffee, banana, clove, cinnamon, brown sugar, and dark fruits. It’s a pretty solid brew.

Pours a murky brown color. Aroma of cloves, spices and alcohol, flavor of spices and alcohol. A good Sam Adams product, but no wonder, it was made by someone else.
