Commercial Description:
Created by Rodney Kibzey, Illinois Rodney describes his wonderfully complex brew as "deep amber in color with a full creamy body and a dark fruit and clove aroma." This traditional Bavarian style brew took Rodney a few batches to perfect, but the taste is worth all of his hard work.

Pours brown with a thin white head. Smells of cloves and bananas. Lots of spiciness on the first sip, but the beer evetually yields a nice bit of toffee and molasses. SA did a good job with this one.

Good pour, a cloudy brown body with a thick light beige head. Very good weizenbock aroma filled with ripe-ripe bananas, clove, soft malts, brown sugar, a few raisins, and warm peppery spices. Back to a "regular" good on the flavor, a sharp jab of alcohol being somewhat of a distraction on the otherwise smooth blending of all elements from the nose. Pleasant fruity finish. All in all, a dandy job by Rodney Kibzey.

Murky brown liquid with a moderate head that diminishes to a lid of beige bubbles. Bananas, bubble gum, and earthy cloves scents. Toasted wheat start with a light cloves and spice coming in mid swallow along with some light fruit (bananas and pears). Finish continues with the light spice. A nice effort with a typically tough style.

Bottle: Thick muddy brown pour, very little head or lacing. Nose of clove and strong yeast esters, some bread and rye stuff going on as well. The flavor is sharp with esters, a dark banana fig sweetness coats the palate. Light hops, subtle roasty toasty notes. A bit low in carbonation for this much sugar and alcohol, it’s a bit hard to drink. Unbalanced almost. I like the intensity, but there must be a better way to bring cohesion to this chaos.

Bottle from Belmont Party . Poured cloudy dark brown color with a large frothy off-white head that was mostly lasting with good lacing. Moderate spicy roasted malt aroma. Medium body with a sticky texture. Medium to heavy roasted bittersweet flavor with a medium bittersweet and small alcohol bite finish of moderate duration. Solid drinkable brew.

Pours turbid dark brown with 1-finger off-white head. Aroma is banana, clove, brown sugar, malt...very nice aroma. Tastes of rich malt, banana bread, cloves, nuts, brown sugar. Very complex in aroma and flavor, this is an outstanding example of this style, and a beer that I hope is made a regular in the SA lineup.

Bottle. Head is initially average sized, frothy, light brown, mostly diminishing. Body is cloudy dark brown, bottle conditioned. Aroma is lightly to moderately malty (caramel, popcorn, cookie), with notes of banana/gum, clove, butter, hint of cinnamon. Flavor is moderately to heavily sweet, lightly acidic, lightly bitter. Finish is lightly to moderately sweet, lightly acidic, lightly to moderately bitter, slightly husky. Medium body, watery texture, lively carbonation, lightly alcoholic. Fairly drinkable for something out of the BBC factory, but nothing special. Buttery caramel corn and bananas for the nose, very watery palate, on the sweet side, a little rough. Can do in a pinch, but it’s mostly average for the style.

Aroma of caramel malt with banana notes. Hazy brown color with a white head that came out flat. Strong clove aroma as the glass approached the nose. Medium body with creamy carbonation. Lots of clove flavor with a dark roasted wheat backbone. Plus there’s banana. The finish is fairly dry, fairly bitter, a bit toasted, and cloved. Quite a product.
