Commercial Description:
Created by Rodney Kibzey, Illinois Rodney describes his wonderfully complex brew as "deep amber in color with a full creamy body and a dark fruit and clove aroma." This traditional Bavarian style brew took Rodney a few batches to perfect, but the taste is worth all of his hard work.

Pours a murky brown with a moderate head that quickly diminishes. Aroma is sweet bananas, bubble gum and earthy cloves scents. Flavor is toasted wheat, light cloves, spice and some light fruit. Finish is long and light spice. Medium bodied and average carbonation.

I didn’t have high expectations going into this beer, but it was actually surprisingly good. Pours cloudy dark brown with a thin off white head. Aroma of bananas and clove. The flavor is very sweet caramel malt and some sugar. The banana and cloves stands out nicely. Very rich, creamy mouthfeel. Well done though, congrats to Rodney for winning.

Pours a cloudy brown with a medium white head that quickly disappears. Aroma of cloves, bananas. Taste of wheat, bananas, spices, fruit and a little yeast. Best Sam Adams beer i’ve ever had, bravo!

12 oz. brown, longneck bottle. Best by July 2008 on box. Poured out a cloudy orangish brown color, with a thin tan head. Aromas are mostly cloves, with some chocolate malts. Flavors are mostly cloves, sweet malts, bit of roastiness. Medium mouthfeel, thin body. Finished spicy.

Mmm, one look and smell of this one and I was immediately reminded how much I love this style. Dark orange with a thick creamy head, a head with nice retention. The aroma is apples, dried plums, something spicy and sour. The palate is unbelievably smooth and creamy with bananas very prominent. Also graham crackers and hops pushing through is a bit unusual but it works. An outstanding effort. Too bad this one gets retired soon.

this ber is pretty damn good. Dark, sweet and fruity. Smells like bananas - finishes the same. A nice brew. Sam Adams has a hit with this ’long shot’ deal.
