Clove and banana in the taste with raisiny character and medium-high residual sweetness. Fantastic, especially when compared to the other longshot brew in the box. tennisjoel (949), Shakopee, Minnesota, USA

Full banana/clove aroma with plenty of toffee to compliment. I love this style and Rodney nails it. Very good job. The palate is perfect. ajm (945), Los Angeles, California, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Jun 26, 2008 Updated: Jun 30, 2008A good 7 percent beer if you’re entertaining. Acceptably smooth, but has that bocky bitterness reminiscent of Amber Bock or most any doppelbock. The deep color belies the relatively high-spectrum tartness - reminds one of a malt liquor with an edge. biznizness (942), Mooresville, North Carolina, USA

Too bad you can’t get a straight 6 of this, instead you have to buy 3 of the grape pale ale. But this is a great beer. LooseCannon (936), Norfolk, Virginia, USA

Aroma of spices, clove, and banana. Flavor is of clove and banana with a slight wheat bitterness at the finish. Not my favorite style, but this seems to be pretty good nimbleprop (922), SouthWest, Washington, Washington DC, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Feb 19, 2008 Pours a dark, nearly opaque, mahogany brown color with a frothy, heavy looking tan head. This LongShot has a fairly intense aroma of yeast, alcohol, banana, smoked wheaty malts, and Belgian candy. This style of beer doesn’t produce my favorite beer aroma, but this brew has a very pronounced aroma regardless of personal taste. Flavor is very similar to the aroma, although reminds me more of an abbey dubbel than a weizen bock. Flavor blends heavy fruit flavors (plum and banana), heavy yeast flavor and heavy malt flavor. Nothing subtle in this bottle. Again, not my favorite style, and a little misrepresented by calling it a weizenbock, but still a pleasant flavor. Finish has a lasting sweetness and a slightly syrupy texture. I was very impressed by this beer, and although I don’t typically like weizenbocks, I thought this beer was a great representation of the style and a great offering from the Boston Beer Company. rocbyter (921), Waterbury, Connecticut, USA
