Commercial Description:
Created by Rodney Kibzey, Illinois Rodney describes his wonderfully complex brew as "deep amber in color with a full creamy body and a dark fruit and clove aroma." This traditional Bavarian style brew took Rodney a few batches to perfect, but the taste is worth all of his hard work.

Bottle. Pours a cloudy dark brown with a medium frothy light tan head. The aroma is clove and bananas. Good lacing on the glass. The taste is a very sweet malt with banana and brown sugar. A good Weizen Bock from Sam Adams.

Not bad. Nice color, flavor and aroma. I could notice a decently strong alcohol presence without knowing ahead of time the ABV (not that I’m complaining).

12oz bottle. Pours dark and very cloudy - muddy and, honestly, not particularly attractive. The color is caramel brown. The head pours thick and medium tan, and it is fairly long-lasting. The aroma is spicy and full of caramel and wheat. It has also huge notes of banana. The flavor starts somewhat dry and spicy with lots of wheat, a little spice, and a good bit of fruity esters. It also have some nice toasty and roasty flavors, though subtle next to the wheat and esters. By mid-palate, there is a strong grainy flavor that carries lots of toasted wheat. The spices are still present, but the fruity esters begin to diminish and are replaced by the flavor of ethanol and some balancing, spicy bitterness. The finish is dry and grainy with a mild chalkiness and flavors of burnt bread and toffee, spicy noble hops, and wheat malt. The mouthfeel is rich and creamy, fairly light in body, and surprisingly delicate in its carbonation level. Overall, a very nice effort at this style. The aroma is nice and the flavor starts nice, but in the end this beer is missing some of the complexity of other, more authentic examples. It is tasty nevertheless.

Bottle pours a dark brown haze color. Cream head lasts a while and has a medium-light mouthfeel. Smells like fruit and cloves. Tastes are very complex and has upfront fruit with some spice finish. I would brew with this guy anytime.

This beer poured out dirty brown with a decent small head. As soon as the cap was removed, the smell of bananas and cloves wafted out. Great carbonation for this style. Taste starts off strong of slight banana flavor and much stronger clove flavor but quickly retreats leaving a dry feeling on the tongue. Wish the flavor lasted just a little longer on this guy but overall a decent beer.

(bottle) Pours brown with a lastiing white head. Really strong aroma of banana, clove, and bubblegum. Wow, this is exactly what I’m looking for in a weizenbock. The taste was strong on banana at first, with some lemon, clove, and yeast making up the finish. The mouthfeel was a little thin, but other than that this beer is one of the better that I’ve had from this style, and with the low pricetag I’ll definitely buy some more. Great beer Rodney!

This pours a dark cloudy reddish brown with dark brown and even some darker stretches along the sides of the glass, has a good size off-white and tan head that recedes a bit, there is some creamy tan lacing left on the glass, big ripe banana and unsweetened dried fruit aromas, along with some dark malt and bread, a little bit of pepper, I got a faint phenol smoke fragrance here and there, flavor of dark bread, dark fruit and dark sugar sweetness, I could feel just a touch of the alcohol warmth on the palate, has a good full mouth feel, a very good tasty wheat beer, S.A. should market this as a regular offering.

Maybe I need to try this again b/c I couldn’t finish it. Wasn’t bad but just sort of boring and to sweet and not much wheat flavor. Maybe I shouldn’t be comparing to Aventinus either but they did pretty much set the standard.
