A great homebrew, I think is worthy of being in the box. I wish that they brought this one on to there line up, it would be an awesome seasonal

Wonderful spicy rich vanilla aroma, light phenols. Murky brown to look at but wonderful mouthfeel. Sweet rich dark fruits, more vanilla and a touch milk chocolate. Lingers and warms with an almost sherry like finish. Superb. Skeegle (499), Maryland, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | May 1, 2008 Updated: May 29, 2008Thought this one was really great. Dark and muddy, and has lots of banana in the taste profile. Lots of banana, and cloves and maybe some peppermint. Very elegant flavor profile. To those complaining about the alcohol: get over it, this is a weizenbock. I thought this was fantastic and that SA should take it into production. MadMan (497), Tempe, Arizona, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Mar 6, 2008 Bottle. Pours a hazy brown with medium beige head. Aroma is lovely, full of fruit and lots of banana and clove. Flavor is wheaty, somewhat yeasty, with distinct spiciness throughout. Somewhat sugary at times but comes to a dryer finish with lingering spice. Has a good mouthfeel, one I’ve come to expect from the style, with an alcohol warmth that sneaks in. Overall pretty darn good stuff I wish I could get it solo the 3 bottles I had I don’t think were enough. wheninhell (486), louisville, Kentucky, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Mar 14, 2008 pours dark slightly cloudy brown with a nice lasting tan head. very nice banana toffee aroma with light clove notes and a touch of smoke. flavor just doesn’t quite live up to the aroma. sweet toffee raisin flavor leads into slightly bitter caramel and then a nice lasting spicy clove banana finish. medium body moderate almost lively carbonation. surprisingly great beer. If they made this year round I would buy it all the time. biggmike (480), Hattiesburg, Mississippi, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Mar 17, 2008 Poured a dark amber color with fluffy white head that stayed around for a while. Aroma is of wheat, banana, and spices. Taste is also of banana and spices. Mouthfeel is perfect for the style and drinkability is good for the style. islay (478), Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Mar 5, 2008 Aroma: Powerful. Bubblegum, banana, banana chocolate chip muffin, lemon, biscuit, sweet cigar tobacco, and tangerine scents. Very good smell.
Appearance: Cloudy. Dirty, medium brown color. Large amount of thick beige head. Nice lacing.
Flavor: Strong flavors. Sweet start but very dry finish. Generally tastes like it smells. Perhaps a bit too sweet. Quite spicy: Clove, cinnamon, and white pepper.
Palate: Long, surprisingly parchingly dry, lightly bitter aftertaste. Light to medium body. Smooth and lively in the palate. Easy to drink.
Overall: Sam Adams LongShot Weizenbock is a very good, satisfying beer. It is reminiscent of a Christmas ale in its spiciness and dryness. Poured from a 12 oz. bottle. Thanks to tennisjoel for this bottle. The last two Boston Beer Company products I’ve tasted (Imperial Pilsner and this) have been excellent. shendrix (478), Waukesha, Wisconsin, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Mar 10, 2008 It’s good, but I must admit I was surprised to see the 93 percentile rating pop up on Ratebeer. A dark amber brew, as advertised, mingling cloves, figs, vanilla notes, and clover on the palate for a pleasing, easy-going drink that belies the 7.2 % alcohol it’s carrying. A tad too well behaved for my tastes, bordering on blandness, but it would be good set up alongside a pizza.
