Commercial Description:
Created by Rodney Kibzey, Illinois Rodney describes his wonderfully complex brew as "deep amber in color with a full creamy body and a dark fruit and clove aroma." This traditional Bavarian style brew took Rodney a few batches to perfect, but the taste is worth all of his hard work.

Bottle. Pours a hazy brown with medium beige head. Aroma is lovely, full of fruit and lots of banana and clove. Flavor is wheaty, somewhat yeasty, with distinct spiciness throughout. Somewhat sugary at times but comes to a dryer finish with lingering spice. Has a good mouthfeel, one I’ve come to expect from the style, with an alcohol warmth that sneaks in. Overall pretty darn good stuff I wish I could get it solo the 3 bottles I had I don’t think were enough.

12oz Bottle Pours out a hazy brown topped with a cream head. A nice aroma of malt and spice. Tast of clover spice and more malt. Very tasty. i would say that Mr. Kibzey should get a nice PAYDAY from the fine folks at The Boston Beer Company

Aroma of wheat, fruitiness, a little alcohol and some light chocolate. Flavor was very flavorful and enjoyable with not much alcohol at all. This was a pretty good suprise from sam adams. I think this one might get a little better with some age on it.

Pours a brown color with a tan head. Aroma is of caramel malts, dark fruits, chocolate, clove, banana, and some wheat. Flavor is sweet up front with the dark fruits, clove, banana, and caramel malts. Has a nice dry finish with a lingering flavor. My favorite of the Longshots of the last 2 years.

This pours a dark cloudy reddish brown with dark brown and even some darker stretches along the sides of the glass, has a good size off-white and tan head that recedes a bit, there is some creamy tan lacing left on the glass, big ripe banana and unsweetened dried fruit aromas, along with some dark malt and bread, a little bit of pepper, I got a faint phenol smoke fragrance here and there, flavor of dark bread, dark fruit and dark sugar sweetness, I could feel just a touch of the alcohol warmth on the palate, has a good full mouth feel, a very good tasty wheat beer, S.A. should market this as a regular offering.

According to the art on the bottle this was made by the dude from Fine Young Cannibals. Nice work, dude! Banana and gum aroma, tan head, nice cloudy rust color, flavor to match the aroma, &c, &c. Good. Not the best weizenbock I’ve had but definitely the cheapest, and definitely a winner. Old Sam would do well to make this part of the regular rotation.
