Aromas are strong with cooked medicinals. Full nectar with a slightly creamy texture. Big medicine and banana gum spice dominate this brew with a very gentle bittering component on the finish. Good job man, I like it better than Schneider. valpoaj (362), Valparaiso, Indiana, USA

Pours a deep mahogany with a thin head that is as persistent as any I’ve seen in some time...there’s a film on the top of your beer from start to finish! Aroma is sweet and wonderfully tantalizing...lots of malt character with underlying spices, banana, and some bubble gum. Flavor lives up to the aroma, and then some! Tons of banana, wheat, clove, some nutmeg (and maybe some cinnamon), all on top of a great sweet malt and wheat base...this is seriously what a Weizenbock should be! No let down on the palate either...nice and creamy while stopping short of being overly heavy and a burden to drink. Wow, Sam Adams better sign this up for the long haul...although I’m far from trying most of their brews, this one is definitely near or at the top of the list of those I have tried...great effort...now, sell six packs of just this beer please! hodgey1 (9), Edinboro, Pennsylvania, USA does not count | 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Mar 17, 2008 Aroma is wonderfully fruity with Banana most prevalent. Color is dark copper. Flavor is very interesting caramel and malty. This beer is truly excellent! It has taken position as one of my favorite beers. jcdsmack (88), Henderson, Nevada, USA

| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Feb 7, 2008 Murky brown color with no head. Strong aroma of wheat, banana and cloves. All of those scream out in the flavor. A little cinnamon as well. Freakin delicious example of the style. FROTHINGSLOSH (2025), GREENSBURG, Pennsylvania, USA
| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 17/20 | Mar 9, 2008 Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured a very cloudy dark brown color with a medium sized tan head. The aroma was sweetish, yeasty and malty with notes of banana. The flavor was sweet, tangy and fruity with strong notes of citrus and banana and a light hints of clove and bubblegum. The finish was long and malty with banana and bubblegum lingering. Wonderfully complex. jthg (68), Austin, Texas, USA

And, for good reason. The beer has a delicious sweet bread aroma. And, then the beer backs up the aroma with an amazing smooth, but full body. Not much german yeast ester like banana. A little clove... maybe? Overall, a great easy drinking, full beer. Great for the cold days.
