Commercial Description:
Created by Rodney Kibzey, Illinois Rodney describes his wonderfully complex brew as "deep amber in color with a full creamy body and a dark fruit and clove aroma." This traditional Bavarian style brew took Rodney a few batches to perfect, but the taste is worth all of his hard work.

Bottle from Belmont Party . Poured cloudy dark brown color with a large frothy off-white head that was mostly lasting with good lacing. Moderate spicy roasted malt aroma. Medium body with a sticky texture. Medium to heavy roasted bittersweet flavor with a medium bittersweet and small alcohol bite finish of moderate duration. Solid drinkable brew.

Bottle. Body-very dark hazy brown with a half inch foamy head and good lacing. Nose-Belgian, banana, cloves, prunes, dark fruit. Taste-dust, very slight metal, corn sugar, big dose of wheat, lingering bitter, lightly boozy, raisin, alcohol, slightly old tasting, alcohol and wheat really dominate, unsweet portion of apple juice, apple skin, treachle, lychee.

Pours out a muddy brown color with a small slightly off white head. Interesting fruity aroma. Taste is complex with some nice banana notes, some caramel and maybe some yeast here and there. Solid

Ding ding ding... this is awesome. Too bad you can’t get a straight 6 of this, instead you have to buy 3 of the grape pale ale. But this is a great beer.

12 oz. bottle from Plaza Liquors - Pours a cloudy brown color with a two finger thick light tan head. Nice lacing. Aroma is esters (banana), spice, and light toasted malt. Flavor is much of the same. Medium body. Honestly, this tastes more like a Belgian style ale. Overall, a good tasting beer.

Poured a hazy dark amber with a large fluffy/creamy off-white head. Powerful aroma of cinnamon and coriander, apple cider, banana. Flavor is also strong though some parts just feel a bit too prominent. This is really heavy on the banana and clove. Also prevalent are some cinnamon and apple cider. Not especially sweet, and even finishing a tad dry. Body feels decent though I would have liked it a bit fuller or livelier. Although it almost comes across too assertively, I am impressed by the flavor profile here. I appreciate Sam Adams giving kudos to the hard-working members of the homebrew community, but I would like them to come up with more flavorful beers like this one on their own.

Bottle into Weizen glass. Poured a rich oxblood/mud color with a plentiful tan head that laced thick and marvelous: very satisfying to see. The aroma was very spicy and sweet, full of fruits and warmth. Flavor was much more of th spice, a malty, slight roasty sweetness, and more fruit at the finish. Palate was clean, some lingering sweet, much lingering spice. This was a very warming beer, very flavorful, but maybe just a touch spicy. Maybe not, however. Try this again on a cool evening and I might have a different impression.
