Commercial Description:
Created by Rodney Kibzey, Illinois Rodney describes his wonderfully complex brew as "deep amber in color with a full creamy body and a dark fruit and clove aroma." This traditional Bavarian style brew took Rodney a few batches to perfect, but the taste is worth all of his hard work.

Wowie. This was a huge hit. Aroma is super malty with some nice toast to it. Flavor is like a toasted chocolate covered banana. I even got some ice cream to drizzle this over and it was just marvelous. My wife enjoyed it very much as well. Well done Rodney!

Bottle poured a cloudy brown with a small lingering tan head. Aromas of dark fruit, wheat, clove and light carmel. Palate was medium bodied and smooth. Flavors of dates, banana, clove and light carmel with a smooth lingering spiced finish.

Bottle given to me by MaxxDaddy. Thank you sir. Beautiful pour, awesome head, with a muddy copper brown body that is completely unfiltered. Aroma is lightly metallic, wheaty (almost smells like its just begun germinating) with a touch of tomato and pure dark chocolate. The body is thick and perfect, though the beer is very slightly chalky. The flavor is slightly sweet and very grainy, and there a mild ethanol burn far into the finish.

Bottle: Smells like banana and some sugar. Color is muddy brown along with a small head. Taste is a spicy, fuity, with yeast and malt flavor. Texture is thick but easy to drink. Over all a pretty enjoyable beer!

I know Rodney; he’s in my brother’s brew club and I’ve judged with him! Strong banana/clove nose; a pretty solid brew!

(12oz bottle, best by 7/08) Small, quickly dissipating off-white head atop murky dark brown body. Aroma is moderately sweet, clove, banana, caramel, some bubblegum. Taste is moderately sweet, clove, some bubblegum, banana, caramel, raisin. Medium body, some creaminess.

So, I poured this and took a sip. Then I asked The Bride to sample it. She said that it was really tasty. So then I asked her what she thought the ABV was. "I dunno", she said "around 10%, I suppose". Therein lies the only real problem I had with this beer. It is indeed tasty, with really nice fruity, spicy notes - a lot of banana, clove, whiskey, bubblegum, dark bread flavors. But man, did it seem alcoholly. Or maybe I’m just overly sensitive, like some sort of big baby. I wonder if this would age well?

Deep from the back recesses of our second fridge, I find the 2008 Long shot. I hope this is still about the same taste as it would have been a year ago. The pour is a dark mahogany, with a medium light brown head. Aroma is buttery and wheaty. The flavor is true to the aroma with a nice molasses character. The finish is slow and satisfying. Good beer.
