Mar 18, 2008 Smells very bready, has a lemony zest to it, slight banana notes. Taste is very strong sweet banana flavor, almost exactly like juicy fruit bubblegum. Delicious.

Oct 8, 2008 Surprisingly delicious... wasn’t expecting much from the longshot series after trying the grape pale ale, but i def enjoyed this bock... hint ofclove, banana, maybe peach... i wish i could get a case of just this and not the other longshots...

Mar 20, 2008 Sweet brown sugar, honey scent. Dirty brown honey color, cloudy and hazy. Offwhite head. Tastes like a mapely brown sugar, touches of honey, banana, citrusy malts, and a tiny hint of alcohol. A very nice, maybe great example of how i expect a Weizen-Bock beer to be. This and Aventinus are now my 2 favorites and standards in this catagoire. Deserves to be a permanent beer maybe in the Brewmasters collection, recommended, great beer!

Feb 18, 2008 Pours a dark murky brown with a medium head. The aroma is a real smack in the face. Big clove, bubblegum, ripened fruits and spicy malt. Wonderful. Flavor is malts, spice, clove, bananna. What a suprise this was. Thank you Mr. Kibzey.

Feb 8, 2008 Sampled at Cellar’s WIne & Spirits weekly beer tasting in St Paul, MN. Part of the latest LongShot series that contained the grape pale ale. Pours a hazy brownish amber brew with a thin off-white head that has some spotty lacing. Aroma of multi-grain malt, yeast, cloves and plenty of ripe banana esters. Taste is medium bodied, light carbonation with flavors of bubblegum, banana esters, some cloves, wheat, yeast and a touch of cinnamon. Finish retains the banana esters that lingers around after the finish. Surprisingly, this was a pretty decent weizenbock. I would not mind seeing this one around longer.

Feb 22, 2008 12oz. Might be the best Sam Adams ive had to date. Wonderfully balanced brew with wintery spices, cloves, and yeasty esters. Nice alc % which is not noticeable. Very mellow in the mouth and a bit frothy.. i will def get this again.

Feb 6, 2008 (bottle) Pours brown with a lastiing white head. Really strong aroma of banana, clove, and bubblegum. Wow, this is exactly what I’m looking for in a weizenbock. The taste was strong on banana at first, with some lemon, clove, and yeast making up the finish. The mouthfeel was a little thin, but other than that this beer is one of the better that I’ve had from this style, and with the low pricetag I’ll definitely buy some more. Great beer Rodney!
