The foam head on top was a perfect white layer of cream and almost mimicked how Guinness draught looks once poured into a glass. As for the nose, I found a delighting presence of true German styled yeast that had banana and clove that I began to drool for. The drink itself was easily quaffable and had a delicious banana and semi sweet malts that just hit the spot on a hot day. I can only imagine this beer tasting better from the tap. Nice job to the recipe maker and brewer for bottling it. csbosox (1082), Prairie Village, Kansas, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Aug 4, 2008 12oz bottle. Wow, this smells pretty good! Rich and spicy with cloves, dark fruit and banana. There is a floral aspect as well. Dark copper color with a one fingered, off-white head, gentle carbonation, and lots of clinging foam. Sediment is visible in the bottle. The taste is dark fruits, spice, cocoa, appropriate alcohol, and some banana bread at the finish. The finish is flavorful, but well balanced and very drinkable. Rich, full mouthfeel. What a wonderful beer, Rodney was very much deserving of this award. It strikes a balance in all aspects, the clove and fruitiness from the yeast is present but not overpowering, the same can be said for the malt character and really every other part of the beer. | 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Mar 21, 2008 Bottled. Poured a cool shde of murky deeper brown with a thick, well-retained cap of beige head. The aroma was complex and intriguing.. deep chocolate and banana notes, cloves, and a bit of bubblegum.. smelled creamy and decadent. "Creamy" and "decadent" describe the flavor and palate as well.. warm, spiked sweeter chocolates and bananas at the core paired with caramel (especially as it warmed) and dark spices (clove and nutmeg jumped out at me).. spicy, warm finish left an enjoyable impression. Heavier-bodied on the palate with just enough carbonation to move it along nicely.. well-balanced. Great beer! Cryotek (206), Pawtucket, Rhode Island, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Mar 20, 2008 Sweet brown sugar, honey scent. Dirty brown honey color, cloudy and hazy. Offwhite head. Tastes like a mapely brown sugar, touches of honey, banana, citrusy malts, and a tiny hint of alcohol. A very nice, maybe great example of how i expect a Weizen-Bock beer to be. This and Aventinus are now my 2 favorites and standards in this catagoire. Deserves to be a permanent beer maybe in the Brewmasters collection, recommended, great beer! buckybeer (666), Eau Claire, Wisconsin, USA

Big clove, bubblegum, ripened fruits and spicy malt. Wonderful. Flavor is malts, spice, clove, bananna. What a suprise this was. Thank you Mr. Kibzey. Skyview (4068), Papoose Jct., Minnesota, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Feb 8, 2008 Sampled at Cellar’s WIne & Spirits weekly beer tasting in St Paul, MN. Part of the latest LongShot series that contained the grape pale ale. Pours a hazy brownish amber brew with a thin off-white head that has some spotty lacing. Aroma of multi-grain malt, yeast, cloves and plenty of ripe banana esters. Taste is medium bodied, light carbonation with flavors of bubblegum, banana esters, some cloves, wheat, yeast and a touch of cinnamon. Finish retains the banana esters that lingers around after the finish. Surprisingly, this was a pretty decent weizenbock. I would not mind seeing this one around longer. Wonderfully balanced brew with wintery spices, cloves, and yeasty esters. Nice alc % which is not noticeable. Very mellow in the mouth and a bit frothy.. i will def get this again. | 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 17/20 | Feb 6, 2008 (bottle) Pours brown with a lastiing white head. Really strong aroma of banana, clove, and bubblegum. Wow, this is exactly what I’m looking for in a weizenbock. The taste was strong on banana at first, with some lemon, clove, and yeast making up the finish. The mouthfeel was a little thin, but other than that this beer is one of the better that I’ve had from this style, and with the low pricetag I’ll definitely buy some more. Great beer Rodney!
