L: Cloudy crayon brown with a frothy, fluffy rough hewed beige head, good retention, leaves behind a fair amount of splotchy curtain-like lace, this is off to a good looking start.
S: First notes of banana, clove and earthy bread, followed by caramel, cocoa and a light nuttiness. As it warms a soft spiciness comes out along with mild aromas of dark figs and prunes.
F&T: Creamy and moderately bodied with enough firmness and heft from the carbonation to give this weizenbock a well rounded feel in the mouth. Lightly roasted malty tastes of caramel, chocolate and almonds with a nice wheat tang towards the end. Following the initial malt tastes comes a soft banana, clove and tingling spiciness, then mildly sweet dried fruit flavors of figs and raisins, plus traces of sour prunes. Finishes with a sprightly dry hop spiciness, caramel, clove and tart malted wheat.
I thought this was a very enjoyable weizenbock, easy to see why it was picked as a LongShot winner. Well crafted and easy to sip, I wouldn’t mind if this became a seasonal release from BBC.

Ripe banana, chocolate, caramel, biscuity malts in the nose- with some light touches of must. Taste is pretty rich, with chocolate, banana, sweet caramel, spices, and dry malts. Medium to full bodied- sweetness fades into lingering spices, banana, and dry chocolate in the finish. Alcohol pretty well hidden. very good! bozoNZ (507), Christchurch, New Zealand

Wonderful spicy rich vanilla aroma, light phenols. Murky brown to look at but wonderful mouthfeel. Sweet rich dark fruits, more vanilla and a touch milk chocolate. Lingers and warms with an almost sherry like finish. Superb. alexsdad06 (1106), Ohio, USA

Pours a cloudy yellowish brown color with a large beige head that leaves sporadic lacing. The aroma is a nice combination of banana, cloves, yeast, caramel malt, and dark fruits. The flavor has more big banana taste with the yeast, cloves and other spices, caramel, and a hint of nuts. The alcohol just darts in at the end of the glass as it warmed. This is a solid beer and a thanks goes out to Rodney Kibzey for this one. Hinez57 (132), Clinton, Mississippi, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Mar 18, 2008 Wonderful nose, warm bread and dark fruits dominate with hints of alcohol and spice. Beautiful dirty brown with a nice head, pretty good lacing. Flavor is fantasticly dominated with malt character, dark fruits, and bready wheat. Light spice/clove notes are evident. Does have an odd bitter aftertaste on the rear of tounge. Wonderful mouthfeel, silky smooth. I’m completely suprised by how good this beer would be on a hot day or a cold winter night! A great brew that any homebrewer or master brewer would be proud of. emerica56 (586), Bristol, Rhode Island, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | May 30, 2008 Thanks to some guy from Il for making this refreshing weizen bock. It has an amazing dark brown color with a thick tan head, but no laceing along the sides of the glass. The smell is full of clove and malted wheat with some hints of vanilla cream. Initially it has nice bitter flavor with some rich clove and dark fruit. You can really taste the malted wheat with clove that coats your palate. The finish is creamy and sweet with bitter clove. overall this is an awesome beer and extreamly refreshing. BMan1113VR (2943), Los Angeles (and Dallas), Texas, USA

All I can say is wow, I am glad I picked this up, it is excellent. A big suprise from Sam Adams. Aroma is of bananas, cream, clove, honey and alcohol. Poors with a large, light brown, extremely creamy head with exceptional lacing and great retention. Muddy brown body. Taste is malty with banana and sweet alcohol. A bit waterey and lively carbonated. Mouthfeel/palate, whatever you want to call it is the weakest part of this beer. Great stuff, if you see it, buy it! bruno1378 (121), Epping, New Hampshire, USA
