brentfeesh (972), Gadsden, Alabama, USA Sep 3, 2008 Growler from River Side Spirits in Chattanooga. Enjoyed on brewday. Great looking dark copper-amber pour. Clean, clear and inviting. A malty sweetness is the most dominant aroma. The brew is very drinkable. Malt is well presented with a touch of sweetness that is not overdone but gets a it much as it warms. There is a touch of nutty bubblegum but it is not really distracting. Any hops are very subdued and are likely just there to help balance the malt. Wet, medium mouth feel and body. Good level of carbonation.
basewars (57), New York, USA Nov 30, 2008 Pours clear golden brown with nice off-white head. Aroma is caramel, malt, some hops. Flavor is mostly caramel, but a bit watery. I remember this being more flavorful in years past, but not bad overall. soyorganic (138), Denver, Colorado, USA Nov 21, 2008 Draught: so I was pleasantly surprised with this one as I was really in the mood for a beer. A bockish, malty flavor dominates with a cream, slightly sweet finish. The combination of sweet with the malt made this chuggable. penguinjive7 (67), Buffalo, New York, USA Nov 21, 2008 Pours nice amber color with a thin tan head that dissipates quickly. There is little lacing to speak of.
The smell is of bready malt.
The taste reflects the bready malt with a twinge of smooth caramel in the finish.
The carbonation is a bit on the heavy side, but not oppressive. This brew goes down very smoothly and clings a bit from the heavy malt.
Overall this is a pleasant harvest brew that is very easy to drink and have several of. There is not all that much to it and is rather one dimensional, but well worth the purchase as a fall staple.

Smooth and very drinkable. Hophead22 (358), Redlands, California, USA Nov 17, 2008 On tap at a Ruby Tuesday’s. Very nice copper pour, with a decent white head. Very nice malty aroma, smooth flavor. Not a bad beer.
