Commercial Description:
The first thing you notice when pouring a glass of this seasonal beer is the color. Samuel Adams® Octoberfest has a rich, deep golden amber hue which itself is reflective of the season. Samuel Adams® Octoberfest is a malt lover's dream, masterfully blending together four roasts of barley to create a delicious harmony of sweet flavors including caramel and toffee. The beer is kept from being overly sweet by the elegant bitterness imparted by the German Noble hops. Samuel Adams® Octoberfest provides a wonderful transition from the lighter beers of summer to the winter's heartier brews.

Color is dark amber, aroma of malts and hops, flavor is sightly nutty. Pretty good for a seasonal. Very drinkable

Flaske 0,355l delt med Rune. Gyldenbrun på farge. Et luftig skum som forsvant ganske fort. Svakt karamellaktig aroma. Smaken er sammensatt: Litt (brent) karamell, frukt - syrlig. Svakt krydret ettersmak. KI=0

Bottle. It pours a nice copper color with a foamy beige head. Taste is of slightly roasted malt and caramel. It has a similar, yet flat aroma. Is a little bitter and dry. It is rather one dimensional. Decent and refreshing, but sort of disappointing compared to other available choices that are similarly priced.

Had this in bottle. It pours a nice deep amber with a little off-white head. The taste is malty, caramel and toffee, with a hint of hops. Not a bad Oktoberfest if this is one of your favorite styles.

Bottle. Pours a nice golden amber color which a smallish, white frothy head. Aromas of caramel, toffee, roasted malts, and butterscotch. Relatively lively mouthfeel with an oily, thin texture. Taste is medium sweetness, lightly bitter, with flavors of malts and candy abound. This is the best Oktoberfest beer one can drink or purchase.

Bottle is probably a year old or more. Says best before August 09. Pours a deep copper orange color with no head to speak of. Nose is mostly malts. Some faint caramel notes, maybe a hint of some hops, but not much, just faint, maybe a hint flowery. Flavor is very sweet, plenty of malts there as well. Again, nice caramel flavors and plenty bitter. There is still a bit of a hop flavor, but it’s faint. Not watery in the mouth, which is good. Pleasant drink, but not exceptional by any means.

Bought a sampler pack of Sam Adams and after a discussion of the merits of different Sam Adams brews, I realized I never rated this. I give it a 3.6. No further explanation or elaboration. 3.6.
