thehinge (223), Wilmington, Delaware, USA Dec 3, 2007 For a pale ale, this comes off like a bad lager. Skunky aroma. Nothing special in the taste either. Kinda sour malts and no hops to speak of. Really disappointing. I say, start over with this one....what a fucking mess. This is a hair above drain pour.
bobaidan (307), Farmington, Connecticut, USA Sep 4, 2008 Pours clear gold with a good sized head. Aroma is grassy and citrus hops with some malt. Mouthfeel is lively with lots of carbonation. Flavor is mild with some citrus and malt present. Not offensive, but not a great Pale Ale either. Funknmilla (525), Absecon, New Jersey, USA Aug 22, 2008 12oz bottle....pours a nice amber color with a small cream colored head...a sweet clean aroma...a little citrus & a mild grassy scent--a tad of caramel shows up on a deep sniff....refreshing light body...citrus (fresh)...a little malt, tasty but nothing special...hoppy caramel light bitter finish fatti_bobatti (223), Tallahassee, Florida, USA Aug 21, 2008 i like pale ales, love ipas but found this beer to be at best mediocre. defiantly english, aroma is earthy hops and malt. taste is initial heavy sweet malt, caramel, bread and raisins dissipate to earth and resin hops in the finish. a good beer for the style but im not much a fan of English ipas or in the case of this beer, there weaker pale ale little brother. pik5el (40), Pasadena, Maryland, USA Aug 18, 2008 Decent sesson beer. Nothing outstanding, but nothing that tasted bad either. I could drink a couple, but I honestly prefer the Sam Lager or Ale. junon (136), Honolulu, Hawaii, USA Aug 15, 2008 Meh. Not too much to say about this one. It is a fine representation and a fine beer however nothing of note. I love Samuel Adams’ work but sometimes I wonder why the bother with a lot of their releases. For instance it just doesnt hold up against Sierra Nevada’s pale ale.
