Heavily roasted malts on the nose, with chocolate and yeast notes. Quite bitter on the palate, of medium mouthfeel, with something of a tail to the taste. Not bad. The richness of the head suggests nitrokeg. Reasonable aroma of roast malt which comes through in the pleasant initial flavour. Decent body, if somewhat thin. Unfortunately, the pint I had left an unpleasant tang in the aftertaste. I will try it again at a different venue (although the Sun is well-kept) and re-rate if necessary. Shame about the finish. Pours deep brown with an extremely fine, creamy off-white head. Much like a Guinness, the duration of this head is truly magnificent. Aroma is soft, mostly chocolate and light roasted malts. Light carbonation - fine creaminess. Flavour is lovely roasted, good chocolate and a very nice dryness and cocoa finish. Lovely stout. greenmanalishi (299), Leicestershire, England
