The aroma is sweet roasted combined with notes of caramel. The flavor is sweet malty with a strong roasted character, and the mouthfeel is very smooth. Nice. Gethinbeer (1007), Nova Scotia, Canada

| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Jan 8, 2007 Nitro, Three Goat’s Heads, Oxford. Ruby black, dense layer of tan that leaves a nice sticky layer all the way down the glass. Strong dry cocoa aroma, a bit of coffee, some herbal hops. Initially a dark chocolate flavor, moves toward a smokey dry roast, chalky finish. I liked my first few sips of this quite bit, but it gets a bit clumsy after awhile. Half was enough. jainsv (112), USA

| 2.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 3/10 | 2/5 | 10/20 | Aug 25, 2006 Draught at the Cock, London. Aside from dominant flavors of old coffee, I can hardly distinguish this from Guiness...characteristic of a stout made with large amounts of malt and neglible hops. The nitro-kegged creamy head is just too cloying and phony to be enjoyable. The mouthfeel is rather abrasive and dry - swallowing this stuff is like inhaling stout-soaked old coffee grinds and ashes. I think, though, that all these complaints stem from the fact that the stuff is just too damn cold. If it were warmed a bit it would probably show through more of the less intolerable flavors it likely includes. Svesse (2683), Hässelby, Sweden
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Aug 21, 2006 (Draught at Princess Louise, Holborn, London, 30 July) Colour is pitch black with a firm beige head. Nose is roasted with chocolate, mocha, coffe (with milk), chocolate mousse. Taste is roasted with chocolate, cocoa and coffee. Medium body and a balanced dry bitterness in the finish. Really well made stout with a nice chocolate twist to it.
