Bottle. Pours dark but thin with little to no head. Aroma is not big, subtle notes of burnt malts and chocolate. Taste is sweet, and rather thin for an impy stout. Its more of a junior imperial stout.

Bottle. Moderate malt aromas of dark bread, toasted and molasses, light herbs and resin for the hops, a faint meat note for the yeast, with raisin, charcoal, vanilla and alcohol in the background. Head is between creamy and frothy, light brown with fair lacing and is mostly diminishing. Color is black with a red tint. Flavor is moderately sweet and lightly acidic, then finishes lightly bittersweet and acidic and a bit salty. Palate is medium, oily and has a lively carbonation. It finishes lightly dry. A great Imperial Stout with a nice array of aromas and flavors, but not quite as bold as I expected. It definitely improved as it warmed a bit.

Pours a dark black with a thick tan head. Aroma has a lot of rich roasted malt notes, prune, light coffee and some chocolate. Flavor is bitter up front of black patent and lots of roasted malt which moves into a very light coffee and coca flavor with some sweet prune flavor and a slight metallic and salty taste as the end. The beer has a moderate mouth feel with a bit of a creaminess. Overall its a good beer but there a far batter ones for this style.

An ok stout...but was expecting more from all of the hype. Typical nose of roasted malt, coffee and dark chocolate...some hints of hops. Flavor profile was similar, with mainly roasted coffee at the front. Bitter finish.

12 oz bottle: Pours a very dark brown or nearly black color with a creamy tan head. Smells of chocolate, cocoa, malt, molasses, and coffee. Very nice bitter flavor of molasses, malt, and coffee with subtle spices. A full flavor with a surprisingly smooth finish. I really recommend this if you are a fan of stouts.

Bottle.A dark black color pour with a finger of light tan head that hung around for quite a while.Aroma of chocolate, burnt barly, and some earthy, musty, maybe slightly oxidized but still a good aroma. Flavor of cask wood, charcoal, licorice, tobacco, and a touch of alcohol.Full body, with a somewhat oily texture, and a suprise bitter finish. A pretty darn good stout, fun to try,and quite drinkable.
