Ported (67), Ontario, Canada Oct 27, 2008 Black with a nice creamy tan head. Weak aroma, and mixed flavour. some coffee, chocolate, roasted barley, toffee, fruit. slightly grassy and bitter finish. great creamy mouthfeel, perfect carbonation.
good, not great. plenty of better options out there. garthicus (1215), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Oct 26, 2008 550ml bottle from LCBO. Deep black, large creamy off white head. Aroma: Some coffee and chocolate - however quite muted, sweetness and cinnamon too. Flavour: wonderful - Kenyan coffee, mild milk chocolate, light carbonation, slight alcohol detected too, just a fantastically well balanced and enjoyable beer. A nice long coffee finish. Very very enjoyable I shall be stocking up on some of these for the winter. terrybail (330), London, Ontario, Canada Oct 26, 2008 550ml bottle from the LCBO

A very nice stout
If it is good enough for her Majesty’s Forces it is good enough for me!!! kiefdog (1534), Tampa, Florida, USA Oct 26, 2008 12oz bottle from Willow Bend Liquors (Tampa, FL). Pours a dark brown to black with a one finger tan head that settles slowly and provides some lacing on the glass. Aroma is sweet and malty with notes of brandy, dark chocolate, ripe dark fruit, black cherries, and some slight spice. Flavor is rich and complex with sweet malt transitioning to a slightly bitter coffee and toffee flavor. Other notes include ripe dark fruit, molasses, some dark chocolate. Medium to full body with a pleasant finish. jbuzz (658), South Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA Oct 26, 2008 Very smooth low carbonation. Great malt and roast taste. A bit lighter than other Stouts i have had. matt7215 (942), Cambridge, Ontario, Canada Oct 25, 2008 550 ml bottle from the LCBO. pours black with a big tan head that laces my snifter up nicely. the aromas are muted but complex. chewy dark fruit sweetness with roasted malts in the background. some chocolate and coffee mix with the dark fruitiness in the flavour. this one is quite complex but not big enough to have it stand out. ill pick up a few more for the cellar and review on a later date. Beardface (977), Eugene, Oregon, USA Oct 23, 2008 Intense black pour that is surprisingly thin with a heavy brown head. Very roasty and heavily malted, but singularly easy to drink because of the atypically thin body. Another winner from those damn pesky Brits! carruthm (1110), Seattle, Washington, USA Oct 22, 2008 Much more bitter than a typical imperial stout, and a bit thinner in body with a frothy, bubbly head. The head consists of a roasted dark coffee/malt/chocolate combination and the taste is much more dark chocolate taste with the aforementioned bitterness fading into a deep chocolate finish.
