(Bottle). Aroma of licorice and alcohol. Very dark reddish brown color, with large tan head. Flavor is fruity, licorice, malt, and coffee. Finish a bit on the overly sweet side, with just a touch of bitterness.

Getting notebook online. Bottle. Pours dark opaque color, very intriguing. Fruity spice nose. Watery feel in mouth. Strong acid flavors. Bitter and refreshing.

Thick mocha head, dark chocolate color, overly sweet confectionary aroma, malty pitchy nose and body with a lingering bitter finish, overly busy flavor profille with a tacky residue

pint bottle. Pours a thick black color with a deep tan full head that disapates into a thin layer. Tastes strong of coffee and roasted malts. Love this beer because it has lots of depth to it.

black color, thin, quickly fading head which disolves to tiny brown bubbles. aroma of fruit, coffee, chocolate roasted malts. flavor of smoky, roasty malt, chocolate, coffee, fruit and spice. woww! very complex and yummy. I discovered more and more traits as i drank. full bodied, dry, slightly bitter finish. very complex, very enjoyable brew. you study this one as you drink it and find more and more wrinkles. am i allowed to say ’yum’ again in this rating?

Had this in the bottle at the French Laundry in Fenton, MI. Well, I had heard really good things about this, and every thing I hear was spot on! With stout being my second favorite style, I hold pretty high standards, and this met all of them! It’s aroma, flavor, mouthfeel, and overall experience were up and above what I expected. It pours an opaque brownish/black with a great 2 finger light brown head. The flavor is of roasted coffee and dark chocolate, with that classic maltiness on the finish. A very British take on a fantastic style of beer.

Crushed with Jakebra. Not one to take lightly. Port wine on the nose and in the flavor, but then the finish gives way to a whole other universe, which is pretty much indescribable unless you try it for yourself. Definitely awesome.
