Jun 28, 2008 550 ml bottle served in a snifter. Pours a beautiful black with a tan 1/2" head. Nose is chocolate/malty. Taste is chocolate, coffee, malt & barley. Good mix of the aforementioned flavors and not overly heavy. An Impy that you can drink even when its hot & humid. One thing that amuses me about Sam Smith is sometimes you get a clear bottle and sometimes you get a brown bottle. This bottle was brown.

Jun 28, 2008 Just a fine overall beer. I often write here that Samuel Smith’s is the best widely available beer that I can always count on enjoying anywhere in the country. It’s been reviewed to death, so I’m not going to get too into it. But...it has earned my support and praise.

Jun 28, 2008 From the start I knew I was in for a real treat. This beer pored beautifully. The head was very, very thick though. It smelled as though it would be a little bitter but this was one smooth stout. It was chocolaty, hearty and robust. Another great brew from Samuel Smith.

Aroma: Vinous, barley, burnt, fruit.
Taste: Malty, burnt, coffee. Creamy. Fruit. Bitter aftertaste.

Jun 26, 2008 Pours a dark dark brown with basically no head. Aroma was pretty sweet, mainly of chocolate. Flavor was also very sweet with some coffee notes. More like a sweet stout than imperial to me.

Jun 24, 2008 Pours black with some off-white head. Smells of chocolate, but that’s all I get. Taste is of chocolate. Tastes good, but I wasn’t too impressed.

Jun 21, 2008 ~Pours black with a big creamy brown head. Looks great!
~Chocolate malt aroma, light coffee, and a touch of frutiness.
~Unfortunetly the flavor seems to be lacking a bit. Light chocolate malts and maybe some dark fruits. Gets better as it warms though.
~Crisp feel, tongue tingles, medium bodied, light bitter finish. Nice burp flavor.
~One that I will have to try again. Hopefully get a fresher bottle. This beer has huge potential.
