| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Feb 13, 2008 Poured a dark brown almost black with minimal head and lacings. Nice malty aroma. Coffee, caramel, toasted malt, well hopped, some alcohol flavor. Well balanced rich flavor profile. Good finish too. A meal in a bottle. It cost me over $3 US for this bottle and it was well worth it. Much cheaper than a trip to Engand. blipp (1641), Newark, New Jersey, USA

| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Feb 11, 2008 Pours tan to brownish color, this beer has a good balance of hops and malt. Tasted a little grainy to me, probably for the amount of malt they use to brew this. All and all, I haven’t found a Samuel Smith’s that I haven’t liked, but I’ll go ahead and leave this on the shelf for someone else to try. hoppopotamus (182), Santa Cruz, California, USA
