Pitch black with a thick tan head. Sweet licorice malty aroma with a hint of tobacco and kelp. Med body and lightly carbonated. Great taste of sweet licorice and roasted/blackened malts. This beer has a salt air smell of Puget Sound. Very good. 81605

Pours beautiful black with a thick black head. Wonderful aroma of chocolate and toffee. Taste of dark chocolate and toffee that slides into a slightly bitter finish, which has a roasted quality. Beer is faily well balanced. Not quite as big as an American Imperial Stout, but has an impressive taste profile.

From a bottle--Poured a light brown-black with a moderate to small head. Nose of chocolate and bold coffee malts. Roasty, crisp, and light-bodied for a stout. Very nice beer. Flavor remained on my tongue for a while after beer was gone. A truly classy beer.

Bottle. Pours black. Light creamy brown head. Lacing is decent. Aroma. Banana, bit of roasted malt, oak maybe?. Flavor starts off with banana, leads into a spicy hop, roasted malts, a bit of chocolate and coffe. Leaves a good sweet chocolate bitter finish. Mouthfeel is a bit light but still smooth and dry. A very good stout. Definately going in my beer cellar. Thanks jkugel

Dark black with darker head. Head diminishes rather quickly. Smells like oatmeal, roasted barley with hints of cappuccino. Thick body with an barley, somewhat malty taste with a medium bitter finish. I am not going to go write home about it.

Okay, I wasn’t expecting to like this as much as I do but it turned out to be a real knockout. Great malty chocolately sweet aroma. The flavor is similar, reminds me of chocolate candies and plums and raisins. Complex flavor, has roasted malt flavor along with the candy and sweet licorice, some alcohol but not obtrusive. Really glad I picked this up. I may be crazy, but I like how it all comes together. I’m not a huge fan of the oatmeal stout so i was expecting to be underwhelmed, but this is a very nice beer. Also, brown bottle, not clear, which I’m glad to see.
