33 cl bottle, Fargo. Deep black colour, chocolatey tan head that disappears quickly. Burnt malt aroma with some alcohol, although the alcohol doesn’t transfer to the flavor. Chocolate/coffee taste with a nice bitter smooth finish.

Just a flat out good stout. It pours as dark as soy sauce and has a malty burnt coffee smell. As strong as this beer is, you barely notice the alcohol as you enjoy the bitter sweet taste of coffee and molasses. A very good Imperial Stout that remains a go-to beer for me.

This stout is very drinkable. Very dark, but yet clear appearance. Aroma is tons of raw liquirice with burned malts and some plesant spirit notes. Flavor is quite fruity for an imp stout, again with tons of bitter english liquirice that makes for a fine bitterness along with the sweet fruity esters. Finish is bitter. Overall its not as heavy as other imp stouts, which makes it very drinkable, and the palate is just smooth and delicious.

From bottle : Pours a incrediblely dark, pretty much black color, with a light brown foamy head that leaves a ring throughout the drink. Aroma of grapes, chocolate, and alcohol. Very full body, tastes of caramel, coffee, and you can taste a little of the alcohol, a little to much i think.

Pours oil black with a deep and thick chestnut-brown head. Sweet malt, roasted barley, ripe apples, and oatmeal smell. Sits very full in the mouth. Light tastes of caramel, coffee, and roasted malts and molasses.

bottle poured a midnight black in color with a nicely carbonated head that gave way to a brown ring of foam on the glass. smell is malty, light smoke, plumbs, chocolate, and alcohol. smell is deep and port like, taste is thin on the tongue, not much bitters, chocolate on the sides of the tongue. the beer overall does not have that heaviness most in this style do. really a strange combination together but it is not displeasing, full of flavors but none lead the taste.

Flaske.

One of my favorites! Pour a 18.7 oz. bottle in a 25 oz. snifter and I am set. Pours solid black with a beige head. Aroma is chocolate, coffee, and malt, and the taste is likewise. Strongly recommended.
