Beautiful darkish head with some lacing. Very, very dark. Sweet, clean aroma. Not particularly smooth, some bitterness and astringency.

A black beer with a 2-3 finger head. Aroma is creamy, roasted malt. Taste was like a bottle of creamy milk chocolate with some alcohol added. Very nice smooth Imp. stout that has less alcohol than American versions & even at 7% ABV is well hidden. Great as a dessert beer & I would like to try it on tap as the bottled version is very creamy meaning on tap it should be more. Mmm creamy milk chocolate.

Pours super black with a medium frothy tan head. Toasty malt flavor with toffee and chocolate notes. Clean finish. Really tasty stuff !

Deep deep charry brew of roasted coffee and chocolate. One of the stonger characterful stouts i have had. Great label too.

Bottle (355ml). Aged roughly 9 months piror to tasting. Poured inky black with a medium sized dense, frothy (almost creamy) tanned head which lasted very well. A complex and rich aroma with strong notes of burnt sugar and sticky toffee, toasted malts, milk chocolate, caramelized dates, fruitcake dunked in brandy, smoke and honey roasted nuts. Flavor was a fantastic lactic/sour bitterness with notes of new leather, roasted malts, toast, bitter chocolate, black coffee, smoke, toasted nuts and a dry earthy finish. Medium to full bodied with soft carbonation, an oily texture, very dry mouthfeel and a superb finish.

Fire burnt grain in the aroma, seared and charred. Little creamy chocolate comes through for balance and body. Deep black, thick tan head. Good imperial stout, perhaps standard by a judging guideline, but most of the imperial stouts out there highlight and underline IMPERIAL and even put it in italics. Easy to drink, moderate body, burnt roasty goodness with a little warmth in the finish. Imagine that. An imperial stout that isn’t aged for 18 months in a used barrel with oak chips coffee chocolate anise ginger and cranberries then sold for 18 dollars. It might catch on.

Pours black as a dark coffee and has that smell and taste. Smooth drink, by no means the flavor of Storm King but a good alternative. I like the bite but like my stouts stronger

oured out a large, thick and fluffy dark brown head with retention above minimum cover, slippery ropy lacing all on top of beer that is very very dark brown. The aroma is mild with chocolate, weak weak coffee, lots of roasted malts, slight fruit, warm nuts :) . The flavour is pretty good but in no way compares to the excellence which is their Oatmeal Stout. Nice roasted malts, sweet yet bitter. The bitterness is mild and lasting and becomes more aromatic as it warms. The hops become more obvious than the other flavours as I went as well. Butter? Of course, this beer excels at a warmer temperature. Velvety smooth with a bit of carbonation that seems hidden. Slight alcohol heat, good lengthy bitterness.
