| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Aug 15, 2009 bottle: very well balanced and not too bitter for an impy stout. Dark with tan head. Chocolate, caramel and roasted malts, dry finish. I definitely felt the effects of the alcohol, and rather quickly (surprising for 7%).
Unfortunately, the beer-illiterate place I bought this from (besides for thinking I was asking for a Sam Adams) served this refrigerator chilled. Was better once it warmed up a bit. buzzoven (333), Japan
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Aug 14, 2009 Wondefully soothing beer with a mellow, dark roasted taste. Malty and flavourful. Serves as a nice nightcap. The usual Stout flavours are present and accounted for here (chocolate, coffee, etc.) but there are all blended and integrated so well together here that the sum equals the parts. A highly enjoyable drink. OD40oz (600), Box Elder, South Dakota, USA
| 4.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 10/10 | 5/5 | 10/10 | 5/5 | 19/20 | Aug 9, 2009 I finally got around to trying this. Pours black as oil that hasnt been change in 9,000 miles. Medium brown head. Smells of creamy chocolate. Very smooth, creamy palate, as smooth as silk. Nice balance between chocolate and roasty malts. Finish was just the right amount of coffee, not overpowering. This is a winner. Pinball (2718), Allerød, Denmark

| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Aug 1, 2009 Really enjoyable from beginning to end. A smooth creamy mouthful makes way for a somewhat bittersweet chocolate flavor balanced with roasted malts. Once it warms up the alcohol becomes more apparent. Very solid, drinkable stout that is easy to enjoy at any pace. DigitalMan (113), Idaho, USA
