Bottle 355 ml. Pitch black with a must impressive cream-dark head. Aroma was dark chocolate, coffee. Medium body. With a aftertaste of chocolate and coffee. Flavour is not that heavy, but slightly bitter. Great Stout! Braudog (3766), Dayton, Ohio, USA

Invitingly warm aroma. Robust flavor of nut, bitter chocolate, and alcohol. Bit more thin-bodied than I had hoped, but pretty darn good. Theis (3756), Denmark

A lovely thick black stout. Malts, roasted, prunes, fruits, sweetness, coffee, hop and some licorice. Very nice and complex. Dedollewaitor (3736), Odense, Denmark
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jan 7, 2007 Black with a little off white head. Roasted malts - coffee, liquirice & chocolate. Little alcohol feel & warmth. Filling body closer to watery than thick. Little sweetness before a pleasant bitter finish makes it appearance. Great British product! sayravai (3733), Helsinki, Finland
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | May 27, 2007 (Bottled) Almost black color with a medium, foamy and firm, beige head. Very malty, roasty, sourish, salty and lactic aroma with oaky port hints. Roasted, very malty flavor with salty seaweed/soy sauce, coffee, and a milky, sourish and mildly bitter, ashy-burned finish. Medium to full-bodied, neutral and slightly foamy-carbonated palate. Could be fuller in body - it’s an Imperial Stout after all - but nevertheless a very enjoyable brew. With three times the ABV and maltiness, this would be pretty close to the Sam Adams Triple Bock, as the basic flavors are quite similar. joss (3671), Garching b. München, Germany

A black body with a tan head. Chewy chocolate light licorice, hints of roasted malt and a light bitterness. Full bodied with a slight mineral finish. Nice brew. egajdzis (3626), Spring Mount, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Oct 13, 2003 Poured a dark brown, not opaque color with a large tan. It left some lacing on the glass. Had an aroma of chocolate malt, and fruits, most notably raisins. Taste of coffee, chocolate malt and some hops as well. It finished with a quick oily taste. The best session Imperial Stout I had tonight, if there ever was one.
