Bottled(355ml). -cherry licorice nose, dark coloured, pale brown lasting head, bitter chocolate flavor with slight caramel notes, fruity sweetness in the finish, excellant beer but I don’t get it one thing why white bottle

Very dark brown with a dark beige head. The aroma is sweet and laden with liquorice, dark fruit and malt. Flavour very sweet with chocolate and fruit, a black treacle character and just a hint of bitterness. Easy to drink and to enjoy.

Bottle. Pours dark amber but settles black as night. The head is thin and large and brownish. The brew has a wonderful malty aroma. The taste is choclately and malty, but not quite potent enough for me, if it is an imperial stout it should have a bit more weight. In exchange for the weight the beer has a drinkable feel and a nice lingering aftertaste.

(B.B. 7/2006). Near black colored, little brown head. Aroma is WOHOO! Roastiness, coffee, vanilla, sweetness, portwine and oak, has this aged well... Medium to full bodied. Flavor is also good with roastiness, sweetness, oak, vinous tones and some vanilla. Mild alcohol and good bittersweetness in aftertaste.

Black color, small frothy off-white head. Aroma of burned malts, bread and licorice. Sweet burned taste, again the bread and the licorice.

Sam Smtihs does it again. Jet black. Malty and sweet on the tongue. Maybe some dried fruit to be found as well. Nice rich body and perfect carbonation. Delicious!

So black I forgot the bottle was clear. Very thick tight head almost seems to have glitter in it. Strong molasses and licorice aroma with a trace of ginger. Feels like a pillow across your tongue. Roasted and smoked licorice flavour. Reminds me why this is my current favorite style. Just a little short on the finish.

Big nosefilling wafts of chocolate and roast barley. Jet black body and tight beige head with complicated flavours of coffee chocolate and raisins. Sweetish with a velvety smooth chocolate swallow leaving a roast barley bitterness in the aftertaste. A great strong stout, and its English!
