Bottle at Yeoman’s Road Pub. There is no downside to this stout. It is the classic English style Imperial stout in look, smell, taste and mouthfeel. Soooooo drinkable.

A good stout, similar to their Oatmeal Stout but stronger. Nice aroma and a smooth, sweet flavor. Not the most complex Imperial, however. This one comes up short, IMO, of great Imperials like Bells Expedition or Victory Storm King.

[12 oz. bottle] Deep black color with a thick tan head. Samuel Smith stouts always look like they come in a black bottle, but turns out the bottle’s clear. Rich, roasted aroma with a smell that reminds me of liquor. Very sweet and chocolaty as well. Very nice roasted flavor with a wonderfully smooth malt and chocolate middle and a smooth and creamy finish that warms you on the way down.

Absolutely black with a thin brown head and a roasty, smokey nose. There is a subtle sweetness of dark chocolate and burnt caramel with roasted grains/coffee tastes and an almost smoked bacon flavor. Buttery mouthfeel with a stong bitter finish. Not as strong or as sweet as some Amereican imperials, but very drinkable and enjoyable.

Bottle 355 ml. Dark opague mahogany body. Small chocolate-brown head. Aromas of roasted sweet malts, chocolate and dark rum. Taste is much the same with molasses, coffee and licorice. Also nutty with a nice hopbitterness. Silky mouthfeel. Fullbodied and powerful, but still “light” and easy to drink.

Very dark in color with a tan head. Aroma is chocolately. Very smooth beer. Really good. Roasty coffee flavors. Good.
