355cl Bottle from Selfridges. Only a month left before expiry but I guess thats a good thing. Shame about the clear bottle (why do they do that?). Love the old school label. Lots of alcohol in the nose but it’s really rather good. Typical stout all round but its a damn good one. Black as night and pretty much opaque. Shame about the head. Full bodied with nice chocolate malt and maybe a hint of banana and grass. Very roasty and toasty all round. Lots of malt and liqourice as you would expect. Creamy finish that gradually turns bitter with a polite nod to the alcohol but there is something that reminds me a plastic bags in there. Bin bags to be more specific. Shame about that. Faintly smokey in the finish too. Very good all rounder. thewolf (5822), Kolding, Denmark

Aroma is toffee-like with some smoky tones. Taste is initially bitter, then the chocolate takes over. Quite dry mouthfeel. Long aftertaste with some sourness to it. bu11zeye (5621), Frisco, Texas, USA
