Aromas of malt, coffee, chocalate, and prune. These add complexity to the taste and it finishes with some nice alcholic bitterness.

Rich, cough syrup/raisin aroma. Impenetrable balck body with slim brown skin of froth. Bold coffee taste. Thick mouthfeel with a warming quality, especially through the finish, where th ABV hits home. Sets the taste buds buzzing it does. Lingering chocolate and almost cheese in the finish. Bold, balanced and rewarding. Thick, tasty and fulsome. Kevin (1918), Colorado, USA

| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Apr 21, 2006 Bottle. Pours a deep reddish-brownish black with creamy tan head. The aroma has a lot of roasted barley, noticeable chocolate, maybe a little coffee, and a clean rainforest scent. The flavor is also very roasty, with some bitter chocolate in the finish and just a little bit of bite to it. Not my favorite imperial, but smooth and drinkable. altonbrownd (1914), Amsterdam, Netherlands
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jan 24, 2009 Bottle from Cracked Kettle. An excellent Imperial Stout. Black colour, slight tan head. Dark nose of chocolate, coffee, dark fruits. Smooth and sugary to the taste. Nice coffee and roasty finish. Immy (1912), Virginia Beach, Virginia, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jan 12, 2006 Black pour with a tan head. Rather light nose of chocolate and malt. Very smooth, with malt and sweet cocoa flavors, touched with alcohol. Nice! Joeh (1908), Buckinghamshire, England

Almost totally black - held up to the light and it couldn’t even been seen through! - though there is a slight hint of red. The aroma is of roasted malt, alcohol and coffee. The flavour is also predominantly a roast malt flavour, with coffee clearly there. The alcohol is not so high as to ruin the beer - but is certainly not a beer you would want to drink many of in one night - both because of the strength and the price!. pantani (1902), Salinas, California, USA
