Black pour with a tan head. Rather light nose of chocolate and malt. Very smooth, with malt and sweet cocoa flavors, touched with alcohol. Nice!

Bottled. A special beer selected for my 200th rating. Almost totally black - held up to the light and it couldn’t even been seen through! - though there is a slight hint of red. The aroma is of roasted malt, alcohol and coffee. The flavour is also predominantly a roast malt flavour, with coffee clearly there. The alcohol is not so high as to ruin the beer - but is certainly not a beer you would want to drink many of in one night - both because of the strength and the price!.

Bottle poured a near-black stout with an average-sized light brown head. Lacing crept quickly back into the head. Aromas of brown sugar, brandied figs and (remarkably) egg nog. Bittersweet, full-bodied flavor with a light hop tingle. Very good.

Pours dark, with very nice beige head. Coffee, Mollases aroma. Smokey, deep coffee, taste, fairly smooth on the palate. A very nice beer, but what Imperial Stout isn't?

This black ale poured with a decent tan head and a chocolate malt aroma. There is a full chocolate malt flavor with a chalky slightly bitter finish.

Pitch black with a nice rocky tan head and very nice lacing. Big chocolate roasted aroma, quite sweet smelling, banana? Flavor is sweet and roasted malt. A bit lighter then the typical American Imperial Stout. Body is medium and oily.

Pours a deep black brew with a head that was creamy in texture and a lot thicker than I expect from Imperial stouts. The aoma was very sweet, and had a wine/ripe fruit alcohol smell, some molasses, and some caramel. The flavor was very roasted, lacks complexity, has a slight sweet molasses flavor. The palate is a little rough and thin as is the finish. Overall, lacks the alcohol and complextiy I expect from the style
