One of the absolute great beers I've had. Dark ruby, with a tan, foamy head. Chocolate and coffee notes, with a perfect balance of malt and hops. As creamy as a beer can be. The only downside is the possibilty of skunk, due to the clear bottle. I've only experienced that one time. A great alternative to the more over-the-top micro imperials.

This beer pours like east texas sweet crude oil and has a glass presence that refuses to be ignored. The aroma of mocha is apparent from the moment you open the bottle and translates to a roasted coffee flavor, with a fairly well hidden alcohol presence.

1/2 liter clear bottle: poured in beautiful black color with garnet hues when held to a light......marvelous 2 finger mocha frothy meringue head. aromas of coffee-cocoa-dates-sweet anise...the anticipation is running wild at this point. Taste...where to start?...very complex start without a sharp edge .....near complex layered stout perfection...molassass-licorice-espresso-cocoa-bur treacle all these flavors in a milk body that slowly give way to a slight hop drying in the long finish. One of the best Imp-stouts I’ve tasted ...needs little finishing in a cellar. it’s very mellow and complex and flavourful when fresh. Highly recommended....I will be cellaring a case this winter for sure.

Large, creamy caramel coloured head. Very nice dark dark brown colour. Smells of coffee and sweetness. Tastes of yeast, citrus and coffee. Smooth. Very near perfection.

So smooth! It’s like butter! Aroma has banana and cherries on top of the always omnipresent chocolate, coffe and sugar notes found in stout. Something about it reminds me of fresh laminate. There is a bite of malt to it initially on the palate, but it smooths out to finish amazingly. Licorice is there, but not distracting... Yep! Like butter!

This one has a complex nose, and taste. Not a thirst quencher, but it’s not suppsed to be.This is more of a winter warmer.Easily one of the tastier stouts Ive tried.Nice chocholate, and coffee flavor's.Smooth, but also very full bodied. At 7%ABV it is a fairly potent beer, and they sneak up on you.

Pours a black body with frothy tan head. Milky and malty. Pretty lively for a stout. Notes of chocolate and some fruit. Chewy and smokey. Also quite roasty. Finish is moderately bitter and lingers on the palate. A true gem.
