Dark dark colour. A chocolate white head, that last quite a bit. What a delicious aroma. Notes of cocoa and coffee. The flavour is brilliant. Again its coffee that comes to my mind, and some damned good one. As in good columbian coffee it has a pleasant touch of bitterness in the aftertaste. Its overall very well-balanced. This is absolutely a 'to drink again and again and again ...'-beer.

Very dark brown color with a small brown head. Roasted aroma with hints of banana. Flavor is roasted, licorice, with bitter chokolate on top. A very good Imperial. I would even think i would prefer it to Limfjords porter...

Deep black pour with a 1 inch tan head. Aroma full of chocolate, roasted malt, and caramel. Complex flavor of chocolate, milk, and maybe some coffee. Very full bodied and very well done!! A great brew!!

[12 oz. bottle] Deep black color with a thick tan head. Samuel Smith stouts always look like they come in a black bottle, but turns out the bottle’s clear. Rich, roasted aroma with a smell that reminds me of liquor. Very sweet and chocolaty as well. Very nice roasted flavor with a wonderfully smooth malt and chocolate middle and a smooth and creamy finish that warms you on the way down.

This one had been built up a bit and I really expected it to fall shot of the build up but it was everything I had heard and then some. Nice cocolate flavor. Dark and creamy. Goes down very smooth. Loved it.

Re-rate: Opaque with a brown creamy/frothy head. Touch of lace. Just beautiful. The aroma is layer upon layer...smoke, fruit, caramel malt, chocolate, coffee....Taste is layer upon layer as well. Touch of licorice towards the end. A little bit sour, a little bit sweet. Hint of carbonation that adds a lively presence to the medium body. Nice hop balance on the finish. This is clearly one of my favorites - in fact, it's perfect. The Imperial Stout I hold all others up to measure on!!!

an aroma that reminds me a little of port-prune and molasses. a reddish mahogany color. roasted coffee, walnut, licorice, chocolate nicely balanced with a full body. slight bitterness to the finish. It goes very well with the fuente chateau robusto i’ve just fired up

The malts are well roasted. Pours black with a tan head. An extremely thick palate and aromas of coffee and some hops.
