This has come fom a very long trip (from the brewery, to Merchant du Vin, to VENOM, to me), and I am forever greatful! A very wine-like finish, with a (grape?) aroma... Kind of confusing, but well worth it.

Black, very little carbonation or foam. Strong aroma that hits you with every sip, mixture of sherry and roasted barley. Good flavor complexity, lots of malt, roasted, hints of smokiness and chocolate, slightly dry finish with a little sherry. A true world class ale.

Black opaque medium to full bodided beer with a long-lasting brown head that leaves a beautiful lacing on the glass. Alcoholic aroma and a Chocholate Malt/Coffee flavor. Well made beer!

Well worth the price of admission. Smells like liquid Raisinettes. Smooth, toasty and rummy. Bitter roast and slight sulphur trailing. Beer done right. One of my special occasion beers.

This was a tremendously wonderful beer. Very dark and thick. There were significant roasted characteristics to go with the coffee, chocolate, and even a bit of fruity sweetness. Outstanding.

Not the biggest, but one of the classiest.

Very nice, well rounded stout. It's pretty dry compared to the other imperial stouts I've been drinking. Dryness contributes to the cocoa qualities of the beer. It's a bit like the Young's double chocolate stout, but a little drier, stronger, and has a bit more cocoa instead of chocolate. Excellent lace and creaminess. At first I didn't think it was spectacular because I was expecting something sweeter. It grows on you and is very addicting.
