Sweet aroma of roasted malts, plums and raisins. Black, thick body with a thin brown foam. Wow! Very smooth with great body and mouthfeel. Delicious roasted flavor, coffee and licorice. Finishes clean with little bitterness. Alcohol is masked very well. An excellent stout!

Sweet hoppy nose that's very well balanced with the roasted malt. Medium bodied dark brown almost black stout with a small dark tan head. Feels a lot thicker than it looks. Great roasted coffee bean taste with the perfect hop balance giving it an orangey tasting finish. Friggin' good imperial stout!

Best before June 01. Wonderful port aroma. Very complex taste, sweet and sour port. Fullbodied. A lovely bottle to enjoy for a long time.

Foam light brown color; persistent and creamy. Extremely dark and dense black color. Intense and strong scent of liquorice and coffee. Wrapping and decided aroma. Bitter and long finish.

This is in my opinion (and from what I have tasted to date) the consummate Imperial Stout. This runs down the throat like black, sexual chocolate...Fuck me for saying it, but America just does not make Stouts as good as the Brits...we may have the cornerstone on great IPA, but our stouts tea bag fairies in comparison...

Appearance: intense dark color. Medium head, of beige color, dense and persistence. Aroma: Complex. Coffee’s and chocolate’s liquors. Reminiscences of the black olive, candy and cacao. Sweetness of highly toasty malt. Final with smoked and low presence of hop. Flavor: Similar and as complex like the aroma. Sweetness malty, intense toasty. Presence of bitter chocolate, grain coffee and candy. Reminiscence of liquor. Sweet start, bitter end of toast and hop. Palate: Great body, oily-silky texture. Low carbonation. Excellent, a of my favorite beers. Complex, every time I like it more (sorry for my english)

550 ml bottle - Eye: blackest molasses with large sponge toffee mocha head that lasts forever. Nose: filled with lots of roast, but rounded, not sharp; a whiff of steely hops, black licorice, barbecue, hickory smoke, and damson plums in syrup. Real palate coater, this one. Big malts up front give way to some round alcohol and finally, a wave of intermingling bitterness from the roasted malt and the hops. A friggin’ fantastic classic, and a true warmer on this 1 degree Celsius autumn evening.

Pours a pitch black with a pale brown head. Beautiful port-like aroma, with hints of soy and graham-cracker. OMG PONIES. Tastes amazing - port and graham-cracker from aroma are present again, along with subtle hopping, a bit of honey, and a warm alcoholic finish (not eye-watering, but lightly alcoholic). Body is a tad thin, but at this point I really don’t care. What a gorgeous beer - straddles the line between impy stout and dessert wine. Thank you hogtownharry!!!
