Looks like a liquid Darth Vader pouring into your glass, even the head is brown. A little too sweet for me but it’s great stuff for the money and will knock your socks off. This would KILL with a steak and onions, holy cow! Gunshy (479), Ohio, USA

When I was over in England and saw it in a local pub for the price of a local pint here, I jumped on it. That being said, I love stouts so my opinion may be biased. The look and taste of this is great! Black as sin with a wonderful aroma. I rate the imperial over the oatmeal, even though both are excellant. dankfor20 (193), Las Vegas, Nevada, USA

Coarse light brown head, diminishes. Huge ambrosial aromas of bitter chocolate covered cherries. Roast is there, but it's the dark fruit aromas that steal the show for me. Slick and medium-full body. Flavors of chocolate, dark fruit, some salty licorice. Finishes with a complex series of tastes/sensations that lasts long enough to fully satisfy. In a world of over-the-top Imperial Stouts (don't get me wrong, I love them too!), this is a refreshing, very drinkable example. raindog (559), Evansville, Indiana, USA

Ok, first off, nevermind the commercial description. Secondly, I love black strap molasses and licorice. Thirdly and finally, this beer tastes like strong, Jamaican Blue Mountain Coffee with a good touch of black strap molasses added to it. If you like licorice, coffee, stout beer and hops to boot, you will love this beer. It’s not too sweet... just very very tasty. A blast to drink. Perfect for the wet, chilly weather in the U.K. dirtymike (2018), Manchester, New Hampshire, USA
