Bottle. Black body with subtle ruby glints and a thick brown frothy head. Lovely malty aroma with roasted coffee, plum, hops, and brown sugar notes. Alcohol is very well hidden. Incredibly well balanced and complex malty/hoppy taste. Vineous feeling and hints of plum, blackberries, dark chocolate, and roasted cereals. It ends with a long, sharp and warming finish. The perfect beer on this cold and windy Friday night, and a well deserved reward for a busy week at work.

Bottle poured black with a nice chocolate but fast dissapating head. Faint but clean roasty aroma. Flavor is great with a medium heavy body with malty Robust roasted flavors of coffee, chocolate, very good.

Very nice. Rich malty flavor. Warming but not overly strong alcohol tones. I think I’m going to have to have a Rasputin’s as I’m no longer sure which is my favorite.

550 ml bottle poured a nearly opaque reddish black with a lasting brown head. Aromas of plum, licorice, cocoa, raisins and a bit of coffee. Palate was light bodied. Flavors of dark fruits, licorice, bitter chocolate, some coffee notes and a hint of smoke with a smooth lingering chocolate finish.

Raisins, prunes, wine and chocolate on the aroma. Very nice in that respect but it didn’t translate into the taste like I was hoping. Still and excellent stout that just needs a little more kick.

550 ml bottle. Poured a dark brown black with a fully lasting, monstrous, pillowy tan head. Heavy malt aromas of bread and molasses, sweet alcohol, and port. Flavor is moderately sweet of chocolate cake, lightly bitter. Fully, creamy body with average carbonation. A benchmark imperial stout.

A beer the brits can be proud of. Dark and slightly smoky with a bit of citrus almost masked by the roasted barley taste. A perfect complement to good friends in a pub.

Deep dark body. Aromas of bitter chocolate/espresso. Full flavored chocolate/coffee with a bite.
