Wow! This is a great stout, it is everything a stout should be, dark, thick, complex, fulfilling. It pours a wonderful deep black with a full thick tan head that lingers and when it falls leaves a good lacing. The roaster at Sam Smith did his work, the precision of his efforts come through from the moment the bottle is opened and lasts until the final hints of flavor finish deep in the throat and sinuses. This stout is all about the roast, the deep caramelized sugar in the barley dominant through out. This beer lacks the hard hitting hop attack upfront found in so many American stouts, but this is not a bad thing. The hops are there, balanced w/ the sweetness and alcohol to prepare the palette for an exquisite deep finish. This is a must have for any stout drinker.

Pours very dark brown, almost black. Roasty, slightly chocolate aroma. Smooth malty, chocolaty, coffee taste. Good balanced bittersweet aftertaste, leaving a creamy, mouth-watering, full palate. As far as price and availability, its one of the best beers around.

Bottle - Almost completly black with a creamy tan head about a half an inch thick..... Dark chocolate and coffee on the nose....Taste is very smooth with roasted coffee, smoke and and a fruity sweetness..... Slightly bitter aftertaste.. very go IS

An excellent excellent stout. Very flavorful stout, with an amazing brown color and scent. Definately worth trying out.

pint bottle. Pours a thick black color with a deep tan full head that disapates into a thin layer. Tastes strong of coffee and roasted malts. Love this beer because it has lots of depth to it.

Been holding onto this one for 6 months...today was its lucky day to be sampled by Yours Truly...as you will see, these last 4 Beers I drink before I take over as The American Grandmaster of Beer Tasting are ALL held in high regard...with that said...poured it a little cooler than room temp...looks and smells terrific, noticeably better than its oral presentation...all in all, it WAS what I expected..which means I wasn’t disappointed....this is a pleasing, solid, Classic Imperial Stout...but I also have to say that its Flavor and Palate has made me really look forward to the Oak Aged Yeti coming soon...

Roasted aroma, black color, dark head. Toffee, bitterness, vanilla in the flavor. Tingly finish - very nice.

Smells like nice dark malt and licorice. Lots of it. It looks like your pouring for a stour beer commercial this isn’t Guinesse. Lots of thick brown head and you can’t see ANY light through it at all, not even the edges. I think this is the blackes beer I have ever seen. I bet it will make other things black too... The malt taste is damn near perfect, crisp and distinct like coffee is but its all malt flavour. A bit of licorice towards the end as well, but not as much as in the nose. Quite smooth for how dark it is, I thought it would be thicker. Fantastic, I had thier oatmeal stout the next day to compare, and this one is better, much more robust.
