I actually was under the impression that it was an IPA (before I rated it). moderate malts permeate with a touch of hops as well. moderate to long finish duration. watery texture. not my favorite from this brewer even if I am an idiot. craftbeerdesign (753), Alpharetta, Georgia, USA

| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | May 23, 2008 Nice copper in color. Not as hoppy in flavor as I would have thought for an IPA which makes it very easy drinking. Kind of musty in aroma like a dusty drawer. Overall a nice easy drinking brew but there is nothing particularly outstanding about it. I guess I hold Samuel Smith to higher standards. ilherps (226), Carbondale, Illinois, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 5/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | May 23, 2008 The pour was amber with a thin white, quickly diminishing head. Flavor consisted strongly of maltiness with a nice dry, hoppy finish. There was a little more malt than I expected. Overall, this was a fairly decent one from sam smiths.
