Flavour is much less hops than expected for an English India Ale, I was expecting maybe an IPA, but this is truly more like a bitter (as categorized by ratebeer). Straw like flavours are fairly dominant with some fruit esters as well.
It is a nice beer, but differed from what I expected, a nice learning experience.

| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jan 17, 2007 Clear yellow with small white head. Herbal, grass, lemon and malt. Medium body. Nice English IPA. WSSmiles (124), Columbus, Ohio, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 2/5 | 13/20 | Jan 11, 2007 This poured a golden orange-ish color body with little head. Not much aroma, thought by definition it would have a more hop smell to it. Very clean flavor though. Jiffypark (31), Montreal, Quebec, Canada
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jan 7, 2007 I was expecting something more hoppy, but it poured a nice copper coloured brew, to say the least. mreusch (743), Olathe, Kansas, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jan 4, 2007 Bottle; pours a slightly cloudy amber with a nice tan head that slowly dissipates to a patchy covering; good lacing. Tame malty aroma of straw, honey and nut. A little mild hoppiness at the front of the taste, a nice bitterness in the middle and a malty finish that lingers just a bit. I see this is classified as a Bitter/ESB, and not an IPA as I assumed. Once that’s straight its easier to settle in and enjoy as this is a far cry from an American IPA if that’s what you’re expecting. Very nice in it’s own right, recommended. bethmatt0421 (319), Covington, Kentucky, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 11/20 | Dec 30, 2006 Copper-colored with a white lacing head. Aroma is oat-like malts. Flavor is a decent balance of malt, and very mild hops. Unfortunately it just isnt to thick, and finishes dull. Not a very exciting beer, to say the least. Im rarely impressed by the English. 17thfloor (1507), Chicago, Illinois, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Dec 28, 2006 Not very "hoppy" for an IPA. Pours like a shaken up bottle of sprite. Great with chinese food. The finish took me by surprise though... toffee/caramel... finishes the same as bluemoon winter
