Eminates a wheaty, hoppy alcohol scent, with slight apple. Menthol-ish hoppy dry bite, although creamy on the tongue. Slight citrus/apple taste on the back of the tongue. Still remains wheaty and bitter after a swig. (Bottle Pour 6/19/2006) OKBeer (1159), Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada

Faint caramel, metallic, and perfumed aroma, building toffee as it warmed. Light caramel and bread flavours with a fruity and faintly metallic lingering bitter finish. Medium bodied, smooth, with a dry finish. henrikb (1306), Aarhus, Denmark
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jun 17, 2006 Clear amber body, almost white head; Very small, but beautiful nose of buttery malt and flowers; Soft carbonation on creamy body, to the bitter dry side; Drying out in finish, it is actually more dry then it is bitter, almost no aroma. Another well made S. Smith, this one is just a bit to neutral. fbennett (293), Lowell, Massachusetts, USA
| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 5/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jun 16, 2006 Pours a dark reddish brown with a clear clean body that leaves a thin tan head. The nose is fruit esters, citrusy hops, and a bready candy backdrop. The taste is sweet upfront mirroring the nose with a little bitter hop balance that finishes smooth. Dark fruit, figs, and raisins are all in this India Ale. I paired this beer with a bbq cheeseburger and sweet potatoe fries. I love an earthy IPA with potatoes and grilled meat it pairs so nicely.
