Pours a clear amber with little carbonation and slight lacing. Aroma is Worcestershire sauce, rye bread, roasted malt, almonds. Watery to mildly creamy on the palate. Taste is a little thin with some roasted nuts. Sour aftertaste but not unpleasant. Overall lackluster.

Pours a nice dark mahogany with about two fingers of foamy head. Smell is mostly nutty with a very present malt aroma. Taste is very nutty, especially as it warms. Malt is most present with a bit of hops showing up in the finish. Nice medium bodied mouthfeel with the carbonation done just right. I could drink this brew for any occasion and want more after finishing each one. This is a very well balanced brew which, if just wanted to sit around and have a beer, is the one I would choose. Nice deep brown/red color. Roasted and caramel malts. Minimal hop bitterness. I honestly didn’t really like it.

Pours a gorgeous deep ruby to brown colour with a thick creamy tan head that lasts very nicely and leaves a delightful amount of lacing. Nose is faint hop bitterness backed by a reasonable amount of deep caramel malts and tiny hint of roastiness. Flavour isn’t as sweet as some other brown ales, it’s a bit more roasty, and bit less hoppy. It’s nice and thick, and the carbonation is just about spot on. Nice beer, not the best brown I’ve actually had.

Very remaniscent of the oatmeal stout...not as good. I drank this brew wtih a friend named Samuel Smith which may have induced a biased opinion--we were rather excited about the finding of the Samuel Smith beers. Very solid beer though--distinct taste--thick but smooth. Coffee, caramel, hazlenut taste.

An attractive deep red-brown. The rich malts come to a sticky sweetness in nose. More body than expected. Crystal flavor with a very mild roastiness. The mouthfeel is pleasant and the drawn out over a lightly bitter and long finish. There’s something metallic that’s a bit unpleasant in both the nose and flavor.

Pours medium brown with a big ol white head. Obviously very nutty in both aroma and flavor, hints of caramel and tasty hazelnut complement the base walnut flavor. Very interesting take on the style.
